Mysore Races 20/11/13

Hello friends,

                    The Mysore season which started off last week now has a card of 9 races framed for the day,it will be a long day at office and here is my reading of the races and my personal choices 

RACE NO 1:Class V race over 1400 mts 

There are quite a number of possible hopefuls in this race,yet with all due respect to others I think the winner should emerge from Penalty Kick,Truthandfaith and Infiniti Thoughts 

Penalty Kick gets a switch in jockey to John and its last spurt was something one can't ignore,placed well in this has a decent chance to score

Truth and faith ran a good second to Autumn Red in its last start during the Mysore Regular season,and on that account of its last run and recent track trials comes into the contention,gets a jockey change to Vaibhav and should run a bold race 

However both the horses appeal my interest in this race is on Infiniti Thoughts,as PASSAGE OF TIME which also runs in this very race had scored a victory after finishing closely behind Infiniti thoughts when they met last time out,this this horse comes out from a good race and in my opinion its last track spurt is also suggestive of a good show and is my choice for the race despite having a lesser known jockey than the other two horses mentioned above. 

Having said that it would pay to keep an eye on Samrat as I feel this horse can surprise my calculations 

My Choice:#6 Infiniti Thoughts for Win

Race no 2:A class V race over 1200 mts 

I can simply view this race is one angle and that is there is a 3 yo filly sitting at the top of the card with a top weight and having a jockey of very good calibre atop,running after a gal of more than 100 days probably due to injury and seems to be very well prepared on her comeback to the track,her tracks are very suggestive of a good show,the horse am taking about is Secret Treasure,the only danger I see is from the horse that is placed at the bottom of this race in Shining Fame. 

Although it is true that a filly carrying weight more often than not perform not upto expectations,I believe with strong saddle support and relative class of this field she would be able to overcome the weight and make a good account of herself 

My Choice:#1 Secret Treasure for win 

Race no 3:A race for class IV horses over 1400 mts 

Evraz is considered to be a very good horse,Spinning Chakram on its debut ran a good 10 lengths behind Evraz and flopped on its next run as a favourite to an older Mountain Train,now it is going an extra 300 mts with a 3 kg claimer on top,has been working impressively and regularly in the tracks after its last run and in all possibility should win this race with ease,however what would be a detterant for me is the odds if its too low for comfort I would give this race a skip 

My choice:#9 Spinning Chakram for Win 

Race no 4:A race for class III horses over 1200 mts 

It is an interesting case where a trainer is all set to pitch his very consistent horse against one of his former trainees,yes the former is Huckelberry Finn and the later is Alabama

The other horses that also seem to create an interest are Wynn and Party Tonite especially the latter as its last run was a good effort not so long ago 

Anyways I am going with a horse that has always been consistent in Huckelberry Finn above all the others,yes Alabama is working well and is a genieune threat but the former is consistent and comes out of some game races against very good horses and should run a very bold race here 

My choice:#1 Huckelberry Finn for win 

Race no 5:A race for horses in class IV over 1400 mts 

Ensantus Elegans which had performed well oflate comes into this race with a chance to score here but for the number of youngsters it has to beat here,a remote possibility to win according to me can place though 

Yeah as I said the race is very much confined to the 3 yo's the non winners in The Alchemist and Flash time take on two horses which have won before yet lost their way somewhere,Ayman and Galaxy Queen. 

I would prefer the horses that have won before and thus am looking at Ayman and Galaxy Queen,the former had a run in a terms race last time out finsishing way behind to the sprinting sensation Shivalik star,now takes on a relatively modest field and has a decent chance to score here and the filly Galaxy Queen flopped as an 1/2 money favourite and had run well before against some game horses which also include a run in a 3yo terms mile race where it ran with Southern emperor,both horses have had good workouts and my personal fancy is Galaxy Queen and won't be surprised if Ayman or even the non-winning 3 yo pull it off. 

My choice:#5 Galaxy Queen win/place 

Race no 6:A class II race (60 and above) over 1200 mts 

Again two youngsters in this field catch all the attention,but if at all they fail to impress you have a look at Spark of beauty and Rebecca,especially the latter as it has put in some good work in the past 2 weeks 

Now for the two 3 yo that are heading against each other that is Yakeen and Duma,the former nearly won but for chouhan a agressive last minute dash on Solitaire Royale and thus shapes as the horse to beat,but Duma whose last run was at the Bangalore Fillies Trial over a mile now runs at a relatively favourable weights over a distance it is absolutely comfortable with and being accompanied by a decent jockey has a very very good chance to register a winning comeback,only thing is that please watch the weight of the horse. 

My choice:#11 Duma for win 

Race no 7:A class III race over a mile 

All for cash which is in some controversy is the leading contender here and I would like to see its run rather than having a betting interest on this horse 

Which leads me to believe that if I am right in ignoring this horse the winner should emerge from either Always on top or Carisma,and also if the weights are not a matter of concern there is also a same class winner in So fast. 

Carisma which has the weights and age on its side has a pretty decent chance to place and can score with some luck

My choice:#6 Carisma for an e/w bet 

Race no 8:Class III race over 1200 mts 

On the basis of its last run,Mom in law comes straight into contention in this race,its running style suggests that this trip would be better suited and a reproduction of that will see her in the thick of action in this race 

However Esoterical which is returning to its winning handicap after a run in the Mysore regular season and Sky High which is now placed extremely good in the relative weights would be the horse that can get the better of Mom in Law 

As in my calculations Sky High is sitting pretty on the weights I have to say this horse is my personal fancy in this race

My choice:#2 Sky High for win 

Race no 9:A class IV race over 1100 mts 

Real potential won over a close contest over 1200 mts in the same class in its last start,but for my doubt of the distance would suit or not,has a very good chance to repeat its in the same class with a good jockey aboard 

Perfect speed,winning desire and Prezzie are the other three horses which can make the finish interesting but Real potential should exploit its form and put up a winning show 

My choice:#8 Real Potential for Win
