Hello friends,                      We are almost there,the BC is just around the corner and I would be mighty pleased to know what our IRians think about the many top class races framed for the day,it is real sad that in this age of globalisation most of us unless we are NRI's can't bet on int'l races  So here is my take on the top 4 races,and would like to knoe what you guys think too  1)Breeders Cup Classic                                         This 10f race is the feature of the weekend and the pot is worth 5 million,12 runners line up for this showpiece event, GAME ON DUDE seems like the rage here and he has the form too. The field also has last years winner who won in soft going Fort Larned,can he do a Tiznov only time will tell. Hello friends,                     Just read a thread on India's leading horseracing portal's forum horsetalk.indiarace.com that new training licenses are under review,sincerely hope that the legendary Indian Jockey Aslam Kader gets the nod of the club's authorities. Have heard many a stories about his skills on the saddle and it would be really great to see how he takes up to training (if he is given a chance that is!). 

Hello friends,                      It is only natural for a fan of this sport to look back at what had happend in an entire season and remember the highlights of the season.  An Acquired Taste -was the horse that went from being zero during the last Pune season to Hero this season,the favourite of last years derby proved himself by annexing three races this season including an Indian classic,kudos to his trainer Altamash Ahmed and regular partner Sandesh  for such a consistent show,although failed during his last start this Strong Contender progeny is in my opinion the star of the season. Rated 130 currently,just shows his class isn't it.  Jeremiah -It is the horse that won two races and won a race at Hyderabad too and captured the imagination of railbirds,this horse after its stunning performance is now a top contender for the winter classics, his master Pesi Shroff and regular partner Zervan were both clinical in carrying out their jobs! Day's Best Win-NEGOTIATOR                            The third race of the day has the prescence of three horses in the fray which make it an interesting affair, Asahi  which won over a mile last time out,gets the same rider aside now and is a top contender here,however there are two youngsters here in Phelps  who now gets a switch in jockey to Kaviraj Singh and having already gone the distance would be the horse to beat,but as always the horse with the best form here is Negotiator ,this horse's last win is too good to ignore and although doesn't get its winning jockey on board now,the change in jockey should not be treated as a negative factor,the manner in which it won and the relative merit of the field,This horse should romp home here in this race,my days best. Day's Best Win: Dynamo  (made all the pace till the last 100 mts and went down to Falcon  and Bombardier  over a mile,placed well here on terms of the race,the drop down in distance should suit its running style and has a veteran jockey aboard to guide its fortunes,should win the million)  Day's Best 2:Silver Strak  Señora Bella -This horse is my follow horse,was an impressive winner last time out and before that went down to stablemate Zakynthos.It is to be noted that there is a similar kind of scenario here,there is a credible ownermate running here, Silver streak  made the pace all the way till they entered the final furlong and finished a good fourth,the drop down in distance and a change to a jockey in rousing form thus deserves a good bet here  Day's Best Place:Cornelian  (Is a horse that has been consistent this season,although there are young horses in the fray,should be on board for its consistency when compared with other horses in the field)  Double : Oriental Ro

Hello friends ,                          The last day of Mysore regular season also features the Mysore Derby,the derby field this time looks closely matched,a majority of the field has run against each other most of the times.  Here is my take on the contenders and my personal choice  Beauty Is Truth and Ace Badraan in my opinion have the least chance to win this race in my opinion,the latter although appeals a great deal on its breeding lacks the experience here  Perfect Soul had won a race over 1800 mts before his bid in the 2000 gns this season,that victory albeit the field it beat was visually very impressive,on that run has an outside chance here  Ace Bucephalus filled the frame on both his runs during the Bangalore classics,running 4 lengths behind Alaindair is no mean a formline yet faltered in both of its Mysore runs this season,has the horse lost its summer form is a ?,personally have to wait and see what happens here  Turf Striker, the horse which almost won the Bangalore Su

Day's Best:Samay Balwan (Consistent performer this season,on its last run in the hands of PSC finished a good second,on form and saddle support can do it here)  Double:Wild Imagination - Adios Amigo  Day's Best Place-Ace Jet  Upsetter:The 9 yo Golden Spur has the ability to spring a surprise  Also Native Knight  for its sheer record over longer distances stands tall in the last race of the day,yes it is giving a chunk of weight yet seems to be a good bet Atleast for me if odds are closer to evens Zeda  and Dreams of you  also appeal a lot,again these are odds-on horses and have a good look at them if you are a backer at those odds 

Day's Best:Silver Arrow (Unbettable)  Day's Best Value bet:Highraz (Just like Gerome was summered at Bangalore,was a classic hope and thus was an also ran in the Fillies and Derby,now running in class III at the bottom of the scales,Should win. Good bet if odds are 5/2 or more)   Double:Zillie Ilahi (On debut finished fifth,now with a positive switch of jockey and scope for improvement,should score for Pesi Shroff and team)  You re the boss (Is a known front runner with plenty of speed,in class III many 3 yo have faltered,sincerely hope this horse does well as the scales are also in favour)  Day's Best Place:Windmill lady  (last run won as an outsider,today should place in this set,has a tremendrous turn of foot)  Upsetter:Laurus tikati/Valorozky (both e/w bets)  Have a nice day,gamble responsibly 

Hello friends,                     I was away for a majority of the last 3 weeks and so was unable to keep my blogging going as much as I have liked it to........ In the days that went by here are my views of some of the events that took place    The Calcutta Monsoon Derby                                                      The Calcutta Monsson derby saw the victory of Argiano  who was written off by most including yours truly and the jockey who rode him too!!! Sporting the colours of the name that is synonymous with Calcutta racing,Argiano called the shots from very early on and prevailed at the end. Stablemate and more fancied Audrick finished second with Arabian Warrior running on to finish third  There is a widespread debate about why the jockey mislead the punters with his statement,I have no opinions on this subject,but then a lesson is learnt that always don't take a word even if its from a top professional as the beauty of racing is for the most part uncertain.  Anyways co

Day's Best:Honest pleasure ( ignore its last run,has matched strides with the best of its classic generation,takes on two horses with some decent form yet personally I feel has the class in it to overhaul them) Double:Deep diver - Ancient warrior Deep diver -This is my follow horse ever since it cleared its maiden ranks at Bangalore,fared decently well on both occasions it had run at Pune.Saddle support is moderate and opposition is tough yet it is worth taking a chance  Ancient warrior- after being summered at Bangalore,ran pretty well to win a maidens only race,now has a decent chance to score despite giving weight to majority of the field Upsetter:Windmill lady  Have a nice day,gamble responsibly

The bloodlines of Arabian warrior suggest that he would enjoy the step up in distance,but he is yet to win a race so half-heartedly ignoring this horse (hope this horse does well here from all my heart)  Mufasa and Knight of Ke are trained by the master,the former changed stables and the latter is still schooled by him,can't really make a case for him,so ignoring Knight of Ke too along with Mufasa  That leaves us with three Khaitan owned horses and Captain Courageous ,the latter has been prepared well and is the horse to beat here but as they say never underestimate the gold and red silks  Andreus seems like the pacesetter for its stablemates and Argiano although a winner of colts trial stakes will find this step up in distance agains it  That leaves us with Audrick with the Champion of Calcutta in C.Alford (shailesh shinde is the champion of cal (w) season but Alford is the King) who had an impressive last run (a tad slow to start with and showed impressive turn of foot) and
