Mumbai Analysis and Selections 14/01/15
RACE 1:For class V horses over 1200 mts (5yo+)
The horse that catches my attention first in this race is Diesel Don,has two run benifits this season, retains the same jockey and is going out this time with a step down in distance with respect to its last two runs, prepared reasonably well too
Then there is the trio of challengers in
Seacaucus, who has two starts in Pune,a demotee with a claimer on top, based on the fourth place effort at Pune, has a fair chance to deliver the goods here
Glorious Regime whose last run was very suggestive of a good performance, has a huge switch in saddle support and as such cannot be ruled out here
Dishkayon whose victory during the Pune season and the subsequent runs were decent enough to merit consideration, the trainer has placed two horses and one should hope for the right intent.....
Having said all that,Siddhi who is running after a long lay-off is now entrusted to the jockey in form, preperation seems to be its plus point and the relative opposition it has matched strides with makes one believe that it stands a reasonable chance to win here,my personal fancy
My Choice:#4 Siddhi Win
RACE 2:For Maiden Indian Horses 3 yo only over 1000 mts
Three horses out of the seven runners have had Atleast a start in their career, they have all finished off the frame and haven't been strikingly improving in the tracks and as such one is left to choose from the debutants
Romantic Lass seems to be prepared well,I expect it to run well here however I feel that it needs a run to make assumptions
Then there is the duo of Allee Bleue and Multinational
The former is a got-abroad,the stallion had made a name for himself in the west and should be respected for that, the tracks are fair and it is the main contender in this race
Howeve I believe that Multinational who happens to be a progeny of Multidimensional has been prepared well and seems to be forward of the lot and as such is my personal fancy in this race
My Choice:#4 Multinational Win
RACE 3:A class II race over 2400 mts
Four horses over a galloping trip, where will the early speed come from? The pace equation Etc will play a major part in this race
Of the four horses,Al Shamsheer has been kind to me,although this horse is trying to win in class II without winning over in class IV,handicap and pedigree are in its favour
The two 5 yo's in Highlander and Holy Bull have change in saddle support with respect to their last starts, the latter is known to hit the front and at these weights is the main contender in this race according to me
Highlander lost to The General last time out and now with weights reversed and distance increased one should see how it fares here.......
The General who was a monsoon classic hope won well in his last start, has been pitched against horses of good acclaim in his career, last win was pleasing and as such one cannot ignore a youngster (with inherent class) in form who is stepping up in trip,my personal fancy
My Choice:#1 The General Win
RACE 4:A class I race over a mile
Falcon has been a horse of a kind, has run over various distances and statistically it has done well over middle distances and as such is a horse that cannot be overlooked
The Pune Derby Winner in Commander during its classic year, ran in handicap in its last start after trying its luck in terms races, with that benifit of a run should hold good chances in today's trip
There are two horses in Zoraavar and Janis Jay who have fair credentials to come trumps here,of the two the latter can be expected to show some improvement
However,Papakura is the one that has the best chance to score here, has been a good middle distance horse, last run after a slight mishap did well to recover and run second and is now being ridden by the jockey who had partnered the horse while it was winning before, also has advertised its fitness with a good track spurt,my personal fancy
My Choice:#2 Papakura Win
RACE 5:A class IV race over 1200 mts
CHA CHA CHA who is a winner as a 3 yo in this very class is now going down in trip with respect to its recent runs and has a switch in saddle support, has been tracked well and as such is the main contender in this race.
Then there is Khaleefa who after running without much success in terms races for maidens made a strong pitch in its last start in this very class, with that run and a claimer on top seems like having an edge coming into this race
Blackbean after having run a close fourth in its last start carrying top weight will hope for a good run whilst traversing this distance, draw should hopefully add to its chances
Dia is another horse that runs in a handicap for the first time, last run was decet enough when one takes into the incidents that occurred during the race,is placed well on the scales and is the one that can hope to put up remarkable improvement.
Of the older horses it is Cyclops notwithstanding the trip it is asked to travel appeals,in my opinion this horse should run a pretty good race if intent is positive
Many factors in a large field will either aid or hamper the chances of a horse, barring a crude upset the winner in my opinion should be from the horses mentioned here,my personal fancy is Khaleefa
My Choice:#4 Khaleefa Win
RACE 6:A class III race over a mile
The manner of victory, the weights assigned now and the relative opposition and preperation all points towards Shivalik View, however being a runner in class III after clearing its maiden one should be cautious, nevertheless is the top contender in this race
Delightful Lady,Cactus Cash and Made to Measure are the horses that also appeal based on their various factors, however I feel that the Shivalik View stands a good chance of extending her winning streak,an academic choice and nothing more
My Choice:#7 Shivalik View Win
RACE 7:A class III race over 1200 mts (5yo+)
The most interesting and competitive race of the day, there are as good as 15 horses taking part in this race
Capilano,Nature Boy,Home Advantange,Shygirl and Angel In The Sky are the five horses I have short listed as possible contenders in this open looking affair
Shygirl who has won a million is obviously best placed of the lot here, has a good track spurt coming into this race and as such is the main contender here
Nature Boy has been running some good decent races oflate,a winner of 2 races both over today's trip he cannot be overlooked here
However there are horses who can make it their day in Angel In The Sky and Home Advantage
It is Capilano, that appeals to me,there is more hope than reason as it gets the winning jockey back on the saddle and has shown its liking of the 1200 m trip,my personal fancy
My Choice:#2 Capilano Win/Place
RACE 8:A class IV race over 1200 mts
Another race where there are 20 runners, many factors will aid/hamper the progress of a horse in a race like this
To add more spice to this race, there is a debutant in Saltanath in the fray, would certainly be a gate crashes if he manages to pull it off
In my view the possible contenders are,Earthtamer,Soothsayer,War Machine,Beach Game,Affirmation and Cool Runnings
Of them War Machine is the one that can be termed as an 'outsider' here, has been tracking well oflate and has a fair chance in this open affair
Soothsayer gets a trip up in distance and although it has lost to Skyjet in its last start, this horse appeals a lot here
Earthtamer has the form on its side, has been running some decent races and even at these weights cannot be overlooked
Although there is a presence of a horse in great form in Beach Game and Cool Runnings, who is getting a huge switch in jockey and has been the one that comes into reckoning here
There is Affirmation, who has been knocking at the door for long, gets a good jockey in the saddle and is my personal fancy in this race
My Choice:#11 Affirmation win/place
Have a nice day,gamble responsibly
