Mumbai 20/11/14 analysis and selections

Hello Friends,
The Mumbai racing season should kick off in some hours barring any last minute surprises, the card however looks dull on the opening day, however here is my view on the first day of races, caution should be the word for the day

RACE 1:A class V race over 1600 mts

The two youngsters in Macros and Cumbre Vieja are now against two horses in Bonobo now in class V,dropped a lot of ratings and Suntan Beauty returning to this class where he has two wins

Although its fair to give an advantage to the youngsters,I feel that both of them should show a definite improvement to win here

Of the older lot,Bonobo has won twice over longer trips and Suntan Beauty haven't won beyond 1200 mts, thus this race is anybody's race in my opinion

And hoping that its a slow run race where Suntan Beauty who has relative form and handicap advantage and with a decent jockey aboard and with two recent track spurts appeal good to me and is my personal fancy

My Choice:#3 Suntan Beauty Win

RACE 2:A class II race over a mile

Three horses will face the starter in this race over a mile, and one amongst them is a classic winner at Mysore, she likes this distance well and has top jockey support. Running here right after the Pune Derby with no visible track spurts, keep an eye on the weight charts, the obvious top contender

Of the other two,Cactus Cash had a very good last run in the same class, now with regular jockey up on the saddle should win to do well

However for Janis Jay who is a course and distance winner, has what I term as a good switch in jockey and has been prepared well and thus is my personal fancy

My Choice:#1 Janis Jay Win

RACE 3:A class V race over 1200 mts

The two stablemates in Without Fear and Royal Sapphire and Romantic Racer along with Chinook are the ones that impress on first view

WITHOUT FEAR despite being the one of many horses and not by any means the fancied horse of the same stable running in this race has lost ironically to its stablemate as a favourite in its last but one run at Pune, now with this step down in trip and class V company to tackle can make this race very interesting and is a personal fancy

My Choice:#1 Without Fear Win

RACE 4:A Maiden race over 1200 mts 3 yo only

Of the horses that have made Atleast one career start,it is Sail Past and Ocean Dream that appeal the most

Ocean Dream has failed to live up to its bloodlines thus far and so much on default Sail Past picks itself as the top contender for this race

Bon Vivant which comes from the top trainers yard looks like she is prepared extremely well and as such should run a good race

My Choice:#4 Bon Vivant Win

Race 5:A class III race over 1000 mts

Ladybird seems like the top contender in this race, this grey filly had shown some early promise in her career and now being at the bottom of the scales in this sort of a field is an added advantage

True that horses like Artiste,Egyptiana,Valentino and Silsila in the fray, its Ainra who is known to be very speedy is now running with a claimer on top and will look to set a good pace and run away from this race, the main threat

Howeve I feel that Ladybird has that 'class' factor to take her through in this race and as such is my personal fancy

My Choice:#10 Ladybird Win

RACE 6:A class IV race over 1400 mts

Of the older horses the last start winner Feast of Love seems to be the one that should be looked upon with a lot of interest

Pepito and Simply Sweet are the two horses that are ready to battle it out again, although the latter seems to have the handicap advantahe now the former is working well and will give a tough time to others

Of the other youngsters the horse that catches my eye is Royal Classic,he seems to be prepared well with a mock race benifit and has top jockey on duty and as such is my personal fancy too due to its breeding, preparation and saddle support

Keep an eye on Forgotten Voice which is stepping down in trip and is a last start winner and just cannot be ignored

My Choice:#8 Royal Classic Win

Race 7:A class IV race over 1000 mts

MATEUS ROSE whose last run is best ignored, now in the hands of this jockey is bound to do well and as such is the top contender in this race

Both English Lass and Statusque have done well in their last starts and bring young they are bound to improve

But Dark William is the one that also goes out with a positive switch in jockey, last run was decent enough and now in this seemingly accountable company can do well

My Choice:#1 Dark William Win
