Bangalore Winter - 08/11/14
Hello Friends,
It was a turbulent day as far as punting is concerned,no complaints.... For those who picked the winners today would have been a very lucrative day,Saturdays card consists of eight races, here is my analysis and personal fancies for the same
RACE 1:For class IV horses over 1400 mts (4yo+)
Quarter Cask which showed good spark while winning at the lower class managed to grab a place berth in its very next start in this very class, now in this set if it maintains its present form can hope to fare well
Hidden Hero but for the shoes has everything going for him, keep an eye
There are two horses whose last runs were not upto the mark yet they can be termed as outsider in this race and they are LOVE IS LIFE and ORIENTAL IMAGE
Cherry Hinton was withdrawn when it was supposed to run during the fav end of Mysore season, now it has changed stables and is running with silver shoes a cause for concern, however this horse has run third to derby winner Spreadeagle and as such warrants a lot of attention
Motivation comes into this race with good form and obviously the tracks are suggestive too,it also has a decent jockey aboard. The only thing is that this horse is a EIPH-III bleeder and will it have an effect on the chances of the horse in this race cannot be assessed with certainity
In my opinion the first race on paper gives a clear cut edge to Motivation, however if at all there is a horse that could beat it then it has to be Quarter Cask, whose victory at Mysore in the lower class was good and on promotion again fared well
My Choice:#7 Quarter Cask Win
RACE 2:FOR CLASS IV HORSES OVER 1200 mts
FRUIT PRINCE is a lone winner amongst a horde of 3 yo's fighting for the honours in this race, after three listless runs now gets a top jockey back and is being prepared reasonably well
Fourth Dimension also gets a switch in jockey support and that's not all it has finished behind Helping Hand in its last start which was a suggestive race and can hope to do well in this set
Vito was up with the pace and almost led till he weakend last time out in a maiden terms race,is actually placed well here and has services of too jockey, can he sustain on same tactics is the ?
Miracles of Life has been pretty consistent barring its last run where it ran listless, again going by the preperations and the jockey support has a fair chance
There are some interesting horses in the fray however I feel the winner should be from these four,Fruit Prince is my choice among these three
My Choice:#2 Fruit Prince Win
RACE 3:For class V horses over 1400 mts
Southern Fantasy will be fancied and rightly so for obvious reasons, youngster who is a demotee and is tracking extremely well
However there are many geneuine contenders in this race Angela,Shining Bay,Mister Grey and Dream Neo in my opinion are the four horses that can make this race pretty interesting
Mister Grey flattered and failed when it ran last time out,now with a switch in jockey and two easy track spurts should be in the hunt
Dream Neo also has a fair chance due to weights and the change in jockey who works well with this trainer
Both Shining Bay and Angela have scope to do well,if I have to pick one then I feel Shining Bay has a fair chance in this race
My Choice:#11 Mister Grey Win/place
RACE 4:A class IV race over 1200 mts
A good race this, the first three horses are recent winners and naturally most of the attention will be on them as they are youngsters with form
Sakchi is my pick of the first three horses as she had won her maiden very well and after running a decent second to Passing Fulcrum (who subsequently won at Mysore) is cutting down in trip with a top jockey in the saddle
Of the other horses Vigorous who started his last B'lore Winter season with a fluent win is winless and after almost an year has some reason to feel optimistic
Aero Star and Big Copper Penny have age against them but both of them are capable if doing well, keep an eye
Apollo Star is another maiden winner in this set,he is known to cut a fast pace. Now that he is drawn on the inside I expect him to run a bold race,he has the age and weights in favour too. Has a fair chance and is my personal fancy
My Choice:#5 Apollo Star win
RACE 5:Terms race for 3 yo only over 1400 mts
CORIOLIS who last races in the Bangalore Summer Season won his last start quite well over a mile,I feel he has to show good amount of improvement to beat this bunch
Authentic has been running some game races,it will take a lot to overcome the terms of this race which in my opinion is obviously stacked against him
Merion won well on debut,a distinction no one else in this field share, however has failed twice after that, now over this distance I would give him a fair chance
However the two fillies in Feliciana and Smoking Bell have rather very good chances to beat this field here
They both have beaten a common adversary in Azzuro over the same trip, although mathematically speaking Feliciana has an upper hand I would like to differ
Now coming to the class factor,Godspeed is a good formline, form has held quite well and running third to her is a clear indication that Feliciana is no mere pushover
The Myth is not the same league as Godspeed but she is a classic winner and also ran a rather decent Pune derby against the mighty Quasar.....
Trackworks are pretty deceptive,I can say that both these horses will have no fitness issues,if I have to choose among them I would go for the latter,Smoking Bell
My Choice:#5 Smoking Bell Win
RACE 6:A class III race over 1400 mts
Barring an upset from an older horse which to me seems like impossible this race is in the safekeeping of the youngsters
Majestic Opinion is a winner over the same distance at Mumbai, has finished fourth to the too good Be Safe on pre derby day. Thereafter it had a solitary run in Mysore where it finished yet again fourth
Soviet Union won on its Summer debut, then raced in a classic finishing sixth behind Be Safe, after that finished second to Celtic Prince another Mumbai horse
Of the other 3 yo's although Del Santo and Pippin are having decent chances in this open race have a look at Star of Destiny
STAR OF DESTINY cleared its maiden ranks over the same trip, after that in the summer season he ran second to Alexandra Mills who is a classic placed horse, then had two runs in distances I feel was either sharp or too much to ask, this horse after missing the Mysore season is tracking well and is bred very well indeed, has a switch of rider to Y.S.Srinath and in my opinion has a fighting chance in this open race,my personal fancy
My Choice:#5 Star Of Destiny Win
RACE 7:A Class III race (4yo+) over 1200 mts
Igah Igah Igah strikes right away as it is placed well, has a top jockey on duty.....
There are many recent winners in this race Catch The Eye,Manta Ray,Assiduous and Amigos to name a few
However I feel that if Salzburg who has been given two gate practices and now running without blinkers takes a level jump and positions itself in the box,it has a very good chance in winning this race, this horse like this track and distance make no mistake about it. However there is a big IF..... All said and done this horse is my personal fancy in this race
My Choice:#2 Salzburg Win
RACE 8:A class IV race over 1400 mts (4yo+)
Two last start winners are in the fray,Arun and Aceempressjessie the latter can hope to do well, the former won after ages and expecting a repeat is too much to ask
Ace Lexington is the demotee and has been prepared well and with John in the saddle can hope to do well
Always Remembering done well in its last start to finish second, now with a good claimer backed by decent preperation this horse is my personal fancy
My Choice:#8 Always Remembering Win
Have a nice day,gamble responsibly
