BWM 7/11/14 ANALYSIS AND SELECTIONS

Hello Friends, 
                     Bangalore one of the premium centres of horseracing is all set to kick start its winter season come Friday,a card of eight very competitive races is framed for the day. The following is my analysis and personal fancies for the day,the investment plan and monthly analysis will follow later at appropriate times 

RACE 1:For 3 yo maidens over 1100 mts 

On known form both Amanda and Secret Prayer have reasons to feel optimistic in this race. secret Prayer is in with a very good preperation and has a switch to the now fully graduated jockey 

Del Marco has had two trackworks to its prep credit,a top jockey aboard and has the experience of running in a graded race,is a top contender in this race 

Power and Strength makes a belated debut and is prepared decently,has a decent jockey aboard and has fair credentials to do well 

Alecia is from a sire that has done well,is prepared extensively well and seems to be speedy,with a decent jockey aboard can hope to have a bold show 

The opener is by no means a single sided affair,Del Marco which is all set to have its second lifetime start is bound for further improvement and with decent prep and a top jockey aboard to guide its fortunes is my personal fancy for this race 

My Choice:#1 Del Marco Win 

RACE 2:A class IV race over 1200 mts (5yo+) 

UNION JACK is showing some nice track spurts and is now placed extremely well,long lay off is a cause for concern though 

Game Dancer struggled when it races last time,is a winner in this track has a slim chance in my opinion 

Of the others Blue Legend who gets the red hit apprentice,Fortunate One who has shown some form and Inspirator are the three horses that make an impression 

Blue Legend in my opinion is tracking decently and in this no whip race should be able to run a bold race and is my personal fancy 

My Choice:#3 Blue Legend Win 

RACE 3:For 3 yo maidens over 1100 mts

Barring a humungous improvement from the likes of Black Power or with help of its current fitness as evident from the tracks in Zulfiqar,the race will be dominated by the following horses 

Mandarin 
Our Little Dragon 
Air Dancer 

Mandarin and Our Little Dragon are more experienced,the latter found the too good Aralyn in its last start and is technically on form the best horse in this field. However the change in jockey is a cause of concern 

Mandarin on the other hand gets Christopher a regular rider for the stable in the saddle,he is a decent jockey too and now with that edge can hope to ride a big race 

Air Dancer has had two starts and its last track spurt is encouraging,should improve a bit to win here and I hope the rest and preperation would work in its favour and is my personal fancy for this race 

My Choice:#7 Air Dancer Win 

RACE 4:A Class IV race over 1400 mts 

Vencedora which won its maiden race in outstanding fashion did not live up to expectations thereafter,however it has run in a classic and thus merits respect and consideration 

Talking about running in classic races Prize Finder had run nowhere else but in classics alone,now with able preperation and at these weights is a top contender in this race 

Then there is the duo of Ontime and Scorching both promised earlier in their respective races,the first named horse has a definitive edge in this race and the latter may just need this run in my opinion although he is bred in half to the one who showed much promise in Silver Arrow 

Androstos has run thrice so far in its career,it has competed well in its last two starts and has finished ahead of some horses who went on to place in classic races,he also comes I to the race with good preperation and as such is my personal fancy for this very open looking race 

My Choice:#2 Androstos Win 

RACE 5:For horses rated 60 and above over 1200 mts (4yo+) 

Talisker has always been under contention when it was racing at Mysore,no doubt on class factor it does come into consideration however it is facing some young and fresh horses and will be hard if not impossible to beat this bunch 

Ancient Title and Port Blair both have fair credentials to do well in this race,the former has the saddle support and good prep coming into this race the latter is known to be speedy when it was at Mumbai would have been more easy to pick if it had sported 'A' shoes neverthess stands a chance 

Triumph was in song last Bangalore season,seems like the outsider in this race 

However two horses Irish Song and Jersey Shore has caught my attention and I feel that both have great chances to prosper in this race,the latter comes into this race with the benifit of a mock race is known to be speedy and has won in class I,with John who is known to ride top weighted horses well in the saddle it is my personal fancy for this race 

Also Super Start is sitting pretty at the bottom of the scales and it had shown promise early on in its career now can it beat this bunch? If it does I will be surprised but have to admit that one cannot this horse

My Choice:#2 Jersey Shore Win 

RACE 6:A terms race over 1400 mts 

This race the feature event of the day has attracted 6 horses,Southern Emrpeor,Acclaimed and Field Marshall are the three horses that catch the eye in this race 

Southern Emperor did well to come after after a layoff and find its way in a crowded field to finish second behind Ridgeway

As a matter of fact this multi-classic winner has never won below 1600 mts and to add the fact that it is carrying top weight its chances look more dim 

Thus in my opinion the other two horses along with an outsider in I'm different should battle for the honours 

Field Marshall kept the field stranded as it went to win a start to finish race at overwhelming odds last time out. Now it gets a positive switch in jockey and is running a distance it should be fairly comfortable with 

Acclaimed is a horse that has went down to Machivellianism in its last start at Hyderabad,the Western Indian import is actually placed well with respect to the other two horses as per the terms of this race and has that slight edge over others,and is my personal fancy for this race 

My Choice:#3 Acclaimed Win 

RACE 7:A class III race over 1600 mts 

BOOKER JONES which ran behind Fink and followed that up with a fourth behind War Command at Mysore is the top contender in this race 

Medenah has also done well,as a matter of fact it has finished fourth behind Be Safe before faltering to Authentic in its last start,missed Mysore season and will be fresh and ready 

Lucia is also a classic runner,it has run fifth to Maisha and flowed it up with a fourth to Godspeed respectively,working well and placed well on the scales too 

The Soparno won on derby day during Bangalore Summer,the horse he beat however ran second to War Command at Mysore 2000 guineas,has services of Western Indian jockey and is prepared well too and as such at these weights should run a bold race and is my personal fancy too 

My Choice:#9 The Soparno Win 

RACE 8:A class IV race over 1200 mts (5yo+) 

ORDERED STEPS is making a bid for a hat-trick now over 100 mts extra and guess what with a different rider,but cannot be ignored as its previous two wins were fluent to say the least

Spanish Fly which comes into this race with reasonable form has had some excuses and now over this distance is the top contender in this race 

Have a look at Anfield and The Jaguar both demotees and both have a reason to feel optimistic,due to the weights carried,jockey factor and recent form I'm opting for the latter 

My Choice:#3 The Jaguar Win

Bangalore selections and analysis 27/07

Race no 1: A race for class V horses over 1200 mts On the outset this race looks extremely tricky thanks to the the form? of the runners in this race.  Mountain Train which runs after a long lay-off after its winter adventure looks like a contender here purely based on its track form,but as always its a lottery to assume if the horse after a lay off can put up a winning gallop just after returning or will it need this run? But it is prepared extensively ignore at will That brings me back to two horses which have relatively good form in Will still and Star of desire ,both have reasonable form and the latter a demotee with a switch in jockey has come down a lot in ratings  My choice:#1 Star of Desire for Win  Race no 2:A race for Class V horses over 1200 mts Upper division of the previous race,the field is comprised of many youngsters,here too form is not seen in plenty  Rubi Rey ,which ran in the upper class finished fourth to My Faviurite voice, now drops down in gra...

Mumbai Thursday races 12/12/13 a Analysis and Selections

Hello Friends,                       The mid-week racing card at Mumbai consists a compact card of 7 races,here is my analysis and selections for the day  Race no 1:Class V race over 1200 mts  Ancient Odyssey  which won its last start in the same class over the same distance now gets a positive switch in rider,as most of the field is out of relative form,this horse has a fair chance to repeat here Polar Zone  which has earlier shown some spark is now getting a guidance from a top jockey,has run decently in its previous runs too,no tracks are seen and that is my only worry  But one horse which caught the eye during its last run is  SHOWERS OF HEAVEN, it had a forward run in a large field with Dharmendar on top and was calling the shots until they crossed the 200 mts marker over a 7f trip,now with a benifit of that run and a switch to jockey,shapes as a decent chance bet for the day  MY CHOICE:#...
