Hyderabad Races 19/08 Analysis and Selections

Hello Friends, 
                     A seven race card has been framed with THE NIZAM's GOLD CUP as the premier event of the day. 

Race No 1:Maiden 3 yo race (1200 m) 

Globetrotter after failing to win in its four starts despite being close to the winner in all of them,ran a fast finishing second on its last run,now with a change of rider to Suraj Narredu chances look rosy 

Natalia which ran fourth on debut over 1200 mts,now runs first time this season,based on its running style and a decent rider aboard stands a good chance here 

Thus in my opinion Globetrotter is the horse to beat and even though Natalia seems good it lacks a benifit of a run,thus Globetrotter which has a positive switch in jockey,run benifit this season and extended distance with respect to its last run,should score in this set 

My Choice:#1 Globetrotter for Win 

Race no 2:1200 mts race for horses rated upto 50 (3yo+) 

Aventus won over 1100 mts on its second start to shed its maiden status in a good manner,first run in handicap,change of jockey to S.Shivakumar 

Beau Ideal had a good winter season,had a forward run in its last run over 1400 mts,now change of jockey to Suraj Narredu 

Catherine which shed its maiden class on debut now gets the same jockey again,her win over 1100 mts was impressive,tracking good too 

Thus these are the three 3yo horses which have a chance to win and they all have to beat Catherine here if her debut (in the same season) is anything to by,add to that she gets the same rider aboard and looks a winner to me,in case of any upset to her Aventus may be the one who can pull it off 

My Choice:#4 Catherine for win 

Race no 3:Race for horses rated upto 75 (4yo+) 

Six horse field to face the starter for this 2000 mts event,Specialist a 4yo horse looks like a top contender here along with Goleden rule (fourth to Santa Monica) and Okai Okai Okai,the first named and last named are winners over 1800 mtr trips last season 

Westminster is the one which has had a run in this season,earlier over the same trip last monsoon season ran a very close third (3/4 lengths to winner) carrying a similar weight,has the credentials here 

Racing tycoon is the only course and distance winner in the recent last,has a benifit of a run this season where it ran second over 1600 mts,now going over its pet trip and may be the one that can beat the fancied trio 

My choice:#6 Racing Tycoon e/w 

Race no 4:Race for horses rated upto 50 (5yo+) 

Ace star and All the fun are the two horses that appeal the most here,Ace star was a good winner over 1200 mts,now gets a change in jockey to Kiran Naidu,where as All the fun has consistent form and on its second to The Challenge last time around,appeals here.

My Choice:#5 All The Fun for win 

Race no 5:Race for horses rated upto 25 over 1400 mts 

See my style had a decent winter form,ran a 2000 mts race on its seasonal debut,now drops down in distance and class,seems to be the main contender here 

Kohinoor Adhira who is a winner last season in the same class over the same distance,ran 6th to Sugar deal and over this distance may go close 

Flower Drum ran a close second to Sugar deal on its last start now gets a change in jockey,seeing its running style extended trip may suit 

Max Baby with the apprentice on top runs in an alarmingly low weight,has a decent chance as its form line thanks to its fourth to In reality holds good 

Thus in my opinion this race of the lowest class in closely matched,Flower Drum based on its last run deserves an e/w chance 

My choice:#6 Flower Drum e/w 

Race no 6:THE NIZAM's Gold Cup over 2000 mts 

Machiavellianism which is multiple Gr.1 winner carried top weight here due to the terms of the race and giving weight to the rest of the field,there is no doubt about the class of Machiavellianism and he is the número uno contender here,but can he give weight to rest of the field and win over 2000 mts,which he has not won before is the ? 

Thus comes the possibility of two Bangalore raiders in Camorra and Mountain Range,a look at the former's recent form suggests that it's last run is bet ignored befor that made the pace all the way upto the straight at the Stayers cup Gr.1,and thus has a decent chance here 

Mountain Range has worked up in class the hard way,its best performance in the last season was its second to Ocean and beyond on its last run,gets a change of jockey to Suraj Narredu 

Snow Bird was a winner of the Bangalore Oaks last winter at Bangalore  and there is a possibility that the Goldie-brown colours may do well here too 

My choice for the race is rather a tricky one and I will explain why,firstly my choice is Mountain Range 

1)Second to too-good Ocean and beyond on its last run 
2)Running style suggests the distance will be optimum
3)Has the services of a top jockey 

This is only a chance am taking on Mountain Range,Machiavellianism has oodles of class,but what really worries me is its inability to do well over a mile,but if one goes by its Indian Derby run where it led for sometime near the 400 mts marker this horse is no pushover by any means and may humble all 

My choice:#5 Mountain range for win 

Race no 7:A race for horses rated upto 25 over 1400 mts 

Merry maid and sugar deal are the two horses that appeal to me here,Sugar deal which shed its maiden class finally! now goes up in trip and takes on a rather mediocre field,can repeat here 

The horse it has to beat however is Merrymaid who ran a good fifth from the tail of the field (1 length behind winner) over 1100 mts,thus based on that run and a switch in jockey to P.S.Chouhan has a bright chance here 

My Choice:#2 Merrymaid for win 

Day's Best:Catherine 
Double:Globetrotter-Merrymaid

Bangalore selections and analysis 27/07

Race no 1: A race for class V horses over 1200 mts On the outset this race looks extremely tricky thanks to the the form? of the runners in this race.  Mountain Train which runs after a long lay-off after its winter adventure looks like a contender here purely based on its track form,but as always its a lottery to assume if the horse after a lay off can put up a winning gallop just after returning or will it need this run? But it is prepared extensively ignore at will That brings me back to two horses which have relatively good form in Will still and Star of desire ,both have reasonable form and the latter a demotee with a switch in jockey has come down a lot in ratings  My choice:#1 Star of Desire for Win  Race no 2:A race for Class V horses over 1200 mts Upper division of the previous race,the field is comprised of many youngsters,here too form is not seen in plenty  Rubi Rey ,which ran in the upper class finished fourth to My Faviurite voice, now drops down in gra...

Mumbai Thursday races 12/12/13 a Analysis and Selections

Hello Friends,                       The mid-week racing card at Mumbai consists a compact card of 7 races,here is my analysis and selections for the day  Race no 1:Class V race over 1200 mts  Ancient Odyssey  which won its last start in the same class over the same distance now gets a positive switch in rider,as most of the field is out of relative form,this horse has a fair chance to repeat here Polar Zone  which has earlier shown some spark is now getting a guidance from a top jockey,has run decently in its previous runs too,no tracks are seen and that is my only worry  But one horse which caught the eye during its last run is  SHOWERS OF HEAVEN, it had a forward run in a large field with Dharmendar on top and was calling the shots until they crossed the 200 mts marker over a 7f trip,now with a benifit of that run and a switch to jockey,shapes as a decent chance bet for the day  MY CHOICE:#...
