Pune 14/09/14 Analysis and Selections
Race 1:Class V race over 1400 mts
Three 3yo's are in the fray,Light Of Arabia is certainly the top contender amongst them,as 3 yo are bound to improve a fair chance
However I feel the winner should be from the other four horses
Alectar jumps down in class, gets two equipment changes and has the ace jockey in the saddle, the horse to be beaten in this race
BackStreet Bay is running after a long lay off,has a good jockey on the saddle and has only one solitary track,if fit can give a tough challenge
Star Builder is the horse in form, trainer hasn't started to fire winners this season,is the dark un in this race as it likes the distance and also has decent runs in the near past to go by
However,Zaan who had a rather not too much to look at run in the opener of the season over 5f,now travels over 7f. What's important to note is one of its run behind the too good Adam at Mumbai. As it faces inferior competition and will carry low weights, thanks to the claimer on top will be my personal fancy for this race
My Choice:#4 Zaan Win/place
Race 2:A class II race over 1200 mts
There is no prizes for guessing who the top contender for this race is,it is Greek God who reeled on three wins on the trot at Mumbai. Had an unlucky season so far and is pitted against older horses with ace jockey aboard
However invincible Greek God may seem on paper,it would be foolish to write off Pepe Senior and Dictator
Of the two Dictator, the 8 yo may well have a chance to have a final laugh, especially with the apprentice jockey aboard, the distance suitability factors and more because its seasonal debut was suggestive . A place bet would be moral,no harm if you are a bit adventurous too
My Choice:#1 Dictator win/place
Race 3:For maiden 3yo's only over 1000 mts
Rising Wave is the horse that catches eye first in this set, horse lugged in during its last start and trainer has sported blinkers to the horse now. Will it work ? Only time will tell, with Yash up on the saddle is the horse to be beaten here
Lex Luthor who is being prepared intensively can spring a minor upset in this race, should improve well with respect to its first start
Flying Trigger and Zambian are two other horses that can make this race interesting, the latter also appeals on preparation and has a good jockey aboard also it is drawn on the inner side which might be handful over a sprint,my personal fancy for this race
My Choice:#6 Zambian win
Race 4:Class IV race over 1800 mts
Angeling the gutsy winner over 1400 mts earlier this season, now steps up in distance by 400 mts and is certainly the best horse in this field
However there are two last start winners and both from the lower class in Dazzle N daze and Cartel in the fray
The latter is a course and distance winner and cannot be ignored, even in this higher class
Of the other horses,Danse Debonaire and Savage Garden appeal as both have in the last shown their mettle over longer trips and the former is a winner in the same class over the same trip in the Mumbai season
Although Angeling has established formlines, top jockey and even good prep to go by in this race,I expect Danse Debonaire to run a mighty race. With an apprentice aboard all it has to do is hit the front and keep on going, should place and can surprise. My personal fancy in this race
My Choice:#6 Danse Debonaire win/place
Race 5:A class III race over 1600 mts
Haunting Moments thanks to its fourth to Westaphalia over the same trip,a suggestive run never the less is the top contender in this race
Hawker who rallied on in that race should be the main challenger in the fray
However, when one has to look at this race,La Femme Fleur has won 2/2 races in its career, now being prepared well and gets a jockey who is on song and being a mile winner before should be followed
The 3 yo in Legend Of The Seas who ran behind the too good Your Royal Majesty should also be in the reckoning in this race
Am going with the form horse in this race,as it seems to be prepared well to continue its winning ways
My Choice:#3 La Femme Fleur Win
Race 6:A maiden race for 3 yo's only over 1400 mts
On Paper barring any upset from the likes of Replica, this race seems to be between the debutant Congressional and the first foal of wonder filly Set Alight in SATELLITE
CONGRESSINAL is well prepared, has ace jockey on duty and has good blood lines and can be expected to fight it out
What augurs well for Satellite is that she has a run benifit, her potential is yet unknown. As she comes from the top stables its worth taking a chance if odds are agreeable,my personal fancy here
My Choice:#8 Satellite Win
Race 7:A class V race over 1000 mts
Desert Rage,Royal Sapphire are both ridden by top notch jockeys, have decent form and will be the first two in demand in this race and rightly so.....
However I feel this race has a rather interesting contender in Blue Flame, who has run with the pace until the bend in the upper class during its last start over 6f,now over 5f in the lower class with an apprentice doing duty, has a fair chance to succeed and is my personal fancy in this race
My Choice:#1 Blue Flame win
Race 8:A class IV race over 1200 mts
Abderus who won as a long shot, retains the same jockey and is now seen running in the same class, the horse to be beaten in this race
The probable challengers would be Vixen,Affirmation,Angel In the Sky and My Inspiration
All four horses have one or other problems in their last runs,Natalian Express comes back after a lay off and as such will be prudent to watch its run here
Angel In The Sky now returns back to the distance it has put its best performance in,the jockey is not the best yet has sound credentials to do well here and is my personal fancy here
My Choice:#5 Angel In The Sky win/place
