Bangalore 7/11/13

Hello friends,
Saturday's card has 9 races with the Bangalore Turf club trophy being the feature event of the day. Here is my analysis and personal fancies for the day

Race no 1:A race for class IV horses over 1400 mts

8 3 yo horses are in the lineup for the opener of the day,the winner should most probably emerge from As Good As It Gets,Flashy Ways or Do Fantasy

As good as it gets is the most experienced of the three, ran a good sixth behind Arctic Attraction last time out,now gets a step up in distance, change in jockey and positive change of shoes.

Flashy Ways found Cullinan too good in its last start, galloped way too late, the step up in distance should suit the horse

Do Fantasy ran a good fourth behind Aashikara and on that count appeals the most here and is the horse to be beaten

Am going with the most experienced of the three in As Good As It Gets,as it has seen better comapany and is sporting positive equipment. The only concern if any is the jockey on board.

My Choice:#6 AS Good As It Gets for win

Race no 2:A race for maiden 2 yo over 1200 mts

Fairwood Park is supposedly a good-bred horse as per many experts and is tracking very well, the horse to beat in this race

Saltoro Ridge ran in the last 150 mts without a whip on debut, now entrusted to the young jockey from abroad, has a fighting chance

Black Areca ran a good second last time out,now with that run advantage should be a hard nut to crack especially with its running style which will suit the step up in distance

Vivid Impressions is the dark horse here, also has a benifit of run and tracking well, should be in the contention

Jingle Bells and Fourth Dimensions are the two horses that could do well on debut.

As it is a race for 2 yo horses which may run green on debut,I prefer Black Areca which has had a good educational run and with the step up in distance to suit its running style has a decent chance to win from the hot favourite

My Choice:#1 Black Areca for win

Race no 3:Class V race over 1400 mts

Of the older horses Vega and Mountain Splendour are the ones that run with a good chance here, but as youngsters are in the fray it is moral to follow them

On that account Attitude Xtreme which found its galloping shoes too late in its last start and one of a kind which now gets positive equipment and switch in jockey appeal

Attitude Xtreme looks like having the best chance of the two simply because of its running style and its placement in the upper class

My Choice:#2 Attitude Xtreme for win

Race no 4:Class II race over 2000 mts

Evraz which won its last race over mid distance is now taking a jump in distance to 2000 mts

This horse has it in him to travel the distance and may very well go to the post as a cramped odd favourite

Appollo King whose trainer was on song during Friday is a known late galloper, the distance will suit his style of running and is one of the contenders for place

Potomac and Applejack are the two horses which earlier got into a close finish, now weights favour Applejack

Magnitude Star has now come down a lot in scales, will set the pace for this race if one goes by the previous running style of this horse.

Magnitude Star appeals a lot for place because it has come a lot down in the ratings and with a relatively moderate weight to carry can sustain till the end for the second slot

My Choice:#4 Magnitude Star for place

Race no 5:Class III race over 1200 mts

Albertino returns to competitive racing after getting the better of Charlartan and Czar Of Romance and then going down to Murioi in the PBMM. Has the services of the top jockey

In addition to layoff it has to overcome Cullinan, the last start fluent winner in class III over 1100 and Super Start which incidentally made a trip to Mumbai to participate in the PBMM and later ran behind some very good horses.

Super Start which is sitting at the bottom of the scales and now ridden by Suraj Narredu has an outside chance to upset in this race, especially as horses which come after a layoff are found to be rusty in their first start. Super Start has matched strides with some if the best horses and should exploit the scales in advantage and put up a good show

My Choice:#11 Super Start for E/W

Race no 6:Class IV race over 1400 mts

Castle Stuart which went down to Sur La Te in its last start and Arcric Attraction which won over Shinnecock Hills in its last start are the two same class winning youngsters in the fray. Manta Ray is also a same class winner now with a claimer

Peter Parker which has run behind some good horses with a benifit of a jockey change now is the only threat to the former. Two horses

As Arctic Attraction which came out of a very good race from Bangalore summer season having won its last start quite impressively should enjoy the step up in distance and with Sandesh on the saddle should put up a winning performance

My Choice:#4 Arctic Attraction for win

Race no 7:A Terms for 3 yo+ horses over 1200 mts

Shivoo Star which is the favourite and deservingly so put up two back to back breathtaking performances at Mysore and is the horse that they all will try to beat here

Sovetskaya had once had the better of it in a class I affair at Bangalore and on that account shapes as the immediate threat

There is also Chul Bul Pandey who ran second when they met last time now enjoys a 2 kg pull in weights coupled with a change to a strong jockey

Speed Six is a very genuine sprinter, its second to Nefyn at the sprinters cup is proof enough and its recent track movements indicates that the horse can spring a surprise here

But all said and done Equine Lover is a horse which is in some tremendrous form oflate, yes its wins are at handicap races where it hit the front and carried on and this distance is not its forte, yet this horses form is too good to ignore and with a jockey who specialises in horses which hit front atop, chances for an upset is very much on the cards. As the field is small place will be of more value too

My Choice:#4 Equine Lover for e/w bet

Race no 8:A race over 1200 mts for horses in class IV (4yo+)

The two demotees in the fray Mountain Splendour and Sunday Cruz look like the two top contenders in this race, with last outing Fortunate one and last seasons class V winner who is now working well in the tracks in Arthur in the fray, this race has an open look.

But looking at the past two runs of Sunday Cruz especially its fourth in the upper class to Wings of Fortune  I feel that this horse has the best chance to win in this open looking race.

My Choice:#2 Sunday Cruz for win

Race no 9:A class III race over 1200 mts

Strombolite which started its career with a 2/2 record to its name ran after a lay-off in a terms race only to go down to invincible prince over 1400 mts,now back to its forte is the horse to beaten here

From Kafka to Shinnecock Hills there are many many 3 yo horses in the fray

Diamond Quest which ran a forward race last time out over 1400 mts looks like the logical choice which can put up a good show here, yes there are other horse with some good jockeys here but the Mumbai jockey will make sure this horse will do its best, should place and can win

My Choice:#5 Diamond Quest for win/place

Day's best:Arctic Attraction

Double:Black Areca-Attitude Xtreme

Have a nice day,gamble responsibly
