06/12/13 Bangalore selections
Hello friends,
A long card of 9 races scheduled at Bangalore, here is my analysis and personal choices for the races
Race no 1:A class V race over 1100 mts
The winner should be in most probability emerge from Simra (third in the higher class in last outing) Buzzword (a winner at Mysore season recently) Burden of lady (who showed late burst in her last start for her second place)
Buzzword is seen in the tracks with a class I animal, running style of this horse will suit the trip better, with a decent jockey aboard has has a decent chance to win
My Choice:#3 Buzzword for win
Race no 2: A class III race (4yo+) over 1400 mts
Ice cutter which was a fluent winner on debut, now finds itself in class III with a change in jockey to Suraj Narredu, this is the horse to beat and may very well win this race with ease
Thus it is a scenario where one should look for a good place bet,the horses that appeal are Point Taken,Ice Kingdom and Firelight. The latter especially has run some consistent races in this very class, despite the weight and change to jockey should trickle into the top three
My choice:#2 Firelight for place
Race no 3:Class V race over 1100 mts
Gagan Star on its running style appeals the most here but as there are many younger horses in the fray,a win looks difficult if not impossible.
Of the youngsters Byronic,Bel Espirit,Secret Touch and Jet Set Go are the probable contenders
Jet set go now goes out with a change in jockey and a positive change in shoes, comes from a maiden set to the lower most class. May upset
Secret touch and Byronic have both placed in their runs previously and on that count appeal, especially Secret touch has been tracking impressively and also has a benifit of a run this season
Bel Espirit is running after a gap of 4 months, looks to be prepared well and based on its last workout seems like the horse is fit and with the allowance jockey should run a good race
My choice:#1 Bel Espirit for win
Race no 4:A class III race over a mile
This race in my opinion only between Regal Boast,Alfons De Borja and Mannat
Alfons De Borja is no doubt the horse to beat here, after its third to Invincible Prince as a favourite now with John again in the saddle has a good chance
Mannat after failing to collar ACE BADRAAN at Mysore over this very trip now has the weights in its favour and the jockey is capable of exploiting it this has a fair chance
But Regal Boast which went down to Agostini last time out is my choice here, before that won a class IV race impressively and has finished a close second in this same class to a very very good horse, now with the switch in jockey to Sandesh appeals the most for me here
My Choice:#3 Regal Boast for win
Race no 5:A class III race over 1400 mts (4yo+)
In what seems like a two way race between Novel Approach and Wind tunnel (the former bidding for a hat-trick and the latter who had achieved it and flopped in the higher class only to return to class III)
In my opinion both the horses have some competition here especially in Sandstorm,Mi Amor and Wrekin
Wrekin has had a good second on its last run,now with the weights in favour with an allowance jockey aboard deserve an e/w chance in this set. Had earlier won a race over the same distance last Bangalore season with a start to finish attempt and so distance will be apt too
My Choice:#5 Wrekin for e/w
Race no 6:A class II race over 1200 mts (4yo+)
Wind Wonder a fluent winner in class III found light of success too good on its last start, now running against its own age group should defy the weights and run a bold race and in most probability should win here
Impressive Bolt which ran close last time out to Light of Success along with Divine Deliverance and Volcano look like possible contenders for place with the former having a good chance to place.
Absolute Majority was in a good nick before losing its form, cannot win here may at best place
As odds will be too low,I will skip this race but for all academic purposes this is my choice for the race
My choice:#3 Wind Wonder for win
Race no 7:Class I race over 1400 mts
Zultanite which showed tremendrous dash in the lat furlong to win impressively against Cirque Du Soleil and Chase The Sun,finds himself again against the same company. Can be defy the weights and put up a bold show is anybody's guess. My feeling is that he may find it a but difficult
Thus Chase the Sun and Cirque Du Soleil come straight into the contention. Silken Touch which won a terms race at Hyderabad beating the multi classic winner Vijay's Pride also shapes as an outsider here
Although on their last start Cirque Du Soleil was able to get the better of their ownermate Chase The Sun,the latter actually appeals more here. As the sole classic winner in this field which showed good zest in its last run should put up an improved performance especially at the hands of Sandesh.
Jersey Shore the lone 3 yo in this field can make all calculations go wrong as it is sitting pretty on the scales, personally has favoured it in both its last 2 runs but ran way below expectations,on that account am ignoring this horse
My Choice:#6 Chase The Sun for Win
[to be continued]
Race no 8:A race for horses in class IV over 1200 mts
This race has a field full of 3 yo horses,I see this field as two groups one the horses that have won before and the yet to win horses.
Of the horses that have won before Himavri is a same class winner so is Cannes, the latter despite being a small made horse won well a Mysore, with top jockey in the saddle chances are rosy
Cash My Way is a winner of a maiden has been running in class III all the while and is now demoted with a claimer atop. May surprise
Of the maidens Black Bird has seen better company,is now coming back to 1200 mts from a mile in its last start coupled with a humungous switch in saddle support and is also seen to be tracking well.
Thus on that account my choice here is Black Bird
My Choice:#4 Black Bird for Win
Race no 9:Class IV race over 1400 mts (5yo+)
Any horse which wins and is being pitched again in a short span of time is the one to be beaten and on that count Optimus Zone is the nĂºmero uno contender here
Arun which has a positive switch of jockey and tracking well and Hard to pin down which had some suggestive runs and Inspirator which all of sudden gets positive shoes and jockey are the ones to be noten
But on a logic that Optimus Zone's last win was so easy to the eye and the fact that it had beaten many younger horses in the fray (now in older horses only category) makes me believe that this horse can make it two in a row within a span of a week
My Choice:#2 Optimus Zone for win
Day's Best:Black Bird
Double:Regal Boast-Optimus Zone
Day's best E/W:Wrekin
Have a nice day,gamble responsibly
