Mumbai First day-Analysis and Selections 19/11/15
Dear Friends,
Mumbai Season for the year 2015-2016 will be off in just a few hours from now and I wish my readers a very happy and Prosperous Mumbai season,the first day has 7 races and here is my analysis and personal fancies of the same
RACE 1:Zafirah,who despite being a 5yo has been consistent enough in this class and is going over the right trip with a good jockey and is the strong contender in this race,the likes of Devoted,Pracs and Moroccan will try to make a race out of it,Devoted's last run is curious enough to have a second look at it despite the nature of saddle support,Pracs (ex-Theory) is taking a deep step down in distance and may try to force the pace at these weights,Moroccan is a horse which selects itself by default as it has come run a close third in the same class last time and is now getting a change in jockey to a claimer and will hope to do better with the reversal in weights
My Choice:#1 Moroccan Win
RACE 2:On Paper maybe the reversal in weights may seem as a boon to the chances of Simply Sweet,however it goes without saying that the Bangalore Colts Championship winner is taking this race as a lead up to the 2000gns and as such is a strong pointer to the upcoming classics.
My Choice:#2 Phoenix Tiger Win
RACE 3:Nifty and Top Bracket,the two winners of Maiden class races are now pitched against horses who have won class V races and as such the inherent class factor is purely with both of them,with Orieus who won class V with top weights in last run being the sole danger to break into top 2,Nifty is again another strong point in the course of the day but as odds would be yet again a factor here
My Choice:#1 Nifty Win
RACE 4:Angelic Aria,who seemed like a phenomenal winner to the naked eye on debut has been pitched in class III by its trainer which in itself is an indication that the trainer have high hopes on this horse albeit in handicaps,it has to however contend with B Fifty Two,whom I don't see as a threat to win yet is a contender,Iridescence who struck form in Pune has been doing well yet age and against youngsters in class III is suspect and Fearless Nadia,who is a Maiden class winner,same class winner in its penultimate run and is a Graded race runner thus if there is a horse which can overhaul Angelic Aria,it has to be Fearless Nadia and thus is a decent chance in this race according to me
My Choice:#2 Fearless Nadia Win
RACE 5:Victoria Harbour and Brahmachari are two well performed horses in the fray who also happen to be youngsters,with youngsters having a share of more than half of the races in this class the winner should logically be one of these two,but then some experienced sprinters like Mine Forever,Spider Man and Strategic Move,the last named was a good performer at Pune but finds itself in a difficult company here
My Choice:#5 Victoria Harbour Win
RACE 6:Hidden Soul would have been a very good contender for me if he had tracks,his last run in september also not encouraging enough thus is an enigma in this race,Enthralling and Harvey are two other horses that look promising here mainly because they are youngsters,the former is my fancy due to distance factor as i think its a specilist over this trip,the latter was a prolific performer at pune and on course for a threepeat should have more supporters
My Choice:#3 Enthralling Win
RACE 7:If my memory serves me right then Captain Courage despite on the wrong end of the field did well to finish fourth on debut in a million race followed by another third against Victoria Harbour in its next start,long absence from active racing and a couple of tracks from the top pro makes it an interesting contender here,Orla,Marcus Aurelius and Ice Cube Baby are the other horses that makes this race very interesting.
My Choice:#6 Captain Courage Win
