Mumbai 25/11/15 Analysis and Selections
Hello Friends,
After topsy-turvy results on day 1 India's premier racing center did return to sanity on sunday and with a compact card of seven races for this mid week meeting, here is my analysis and personal facies for the same.
Race 1:A class V race over 1000m(5yo+)
Pezzonovante,Queen of Venus,Polar Zone these three horses come into my reckoning for the opener of the day not that i have completely disregarded others but i feel that these three inspite of being 6yo's have it in them to run a good race here
of these three only Polar Zone is a winner over this trip and has the better jockey of the three, one cause of concern however is the draw and it needs a good jump to make its presence felt
Queen Of Venus is also running some game races, his draw is on the inner side and that may be a boon or disaster as he is known to stalk rather than lead, anyways he is having a decent chance here
of the others on a glance Good Memory and Cut Diamond looks like possible threats
My Choice:#1 Polar Zone Win
Race 2:A class III race over 2000m
Jigsaw who after beating a decent set in Bangalore ran in two terms races at Pune and is now tuned in to take good advantage of this small set,two things to notice that is once when it won at Bangalore it was whipped rather excessively and now giving weight to two horses of his own age might become an issue
Saker,Phenomenal Memory both horses have been bred well especially on the dam side and stamina is not a ? so going by the last run Saker does find itself in a good position here
My Choice:#4 Saker Win/Place
Race 3:A class IV race over 1200m
A race to watch in my opinion,I would rather skip it even for analytical purposes
Race 4:A class I race over 1200m
Ageless naturally will attract your eyeballs being a Bangalore summer winner in class II and also a lower class winner in its last run, true that the change in jockey is merely because Suraj cannot carry those weights but then there is another horse in the race Providence that appeals to me,first reason being when they ran together in Race no 89 at Pune the latter had decisively got the better of former and then even if we let that run as an aberration a line through Egyptiana still makes me feel like Providence has the upper hand also keep an eye on Quick Fire who seems like the surprise package here but the form aflutter hasn't been good and as such Providence should prevail
My Choice:#5 Providence Win
Race 5:A class IV race over 1800m
Heather and Flying Dragon both horses are making their handicap debut and have earlier performed well in maiden class and as such both should be given a closer look in this race
Heather was observed to be hanging in the last run and the presence of a stronger jockey might be a corrective measure here,Flying Dragon on the other hand has been running upto a mile and though the pedigree is strongly suggestive of a liking to shorter trips the veteran trainers judgement is best respected and as he runs with a strong change in jockey it would be interesting to see how he fares here
of the older horses Sabiq did well to win over this trip in the lower class and with one run here is the danger to all
Jordan who has travelled beyond this distance before is working well too and is certainly a danger at these weights
Dem Sao and Sou'wester are two other horses that are bound to improve on their second career start and this race is quite a puzzle to solve
My Choice:#2 Flying Dragon Win
Race 6:A class III race over 1200m
An Jolie whose lone win in her career came over the 6f trip did good enough to match strides with Brahmachari last time out,now with a change in stable and also getting back to 6f is a live contender here
Alderly Edge did well to win last time in the same class against youngsters but with an allowance rider and now with Zervan in the saddle another such show cannot be entirely disregarded given the fact that he won well than what it seemed to the eye
Maleficent was the lone contender when it won last time and that being the case her win should be taken with a pinch of salt, however that doesn't make it any lesser here and is my personal fancy here again the once Miliion winner Golden Belle who now gets Sandesh in the saddle and is another contender in the fray
My Choice:#3 Maleficent Win
Race 7:A class IV race over 1200m
Sentimental who ran a not so impressive yet decent third on its last run is now running with Suraj Narredu in the saddle and as such will be the prime contender as well as the prime fancy of many in this race
A look at Then and Now who was taken to the front over 7f and managed to win the small class suggests that he cannot be ignored here now that he is entrusted to a decent jockey without a claimer
Phoenix Cat being a class V winner earlier is also a upper class runner and as such should do well here
Aurelio is the one that catches the eye here especially if Sentimental keeps on to its loosing streak, last run over 7f is best forgotten now that it is running over 6f with Zervan in the saddle and also subject to some good preperation it has a decent chance to win here in my view and is my personal fancy
My Choice:#14 Aurelio Win
INVESTMENT PLAN
BANKROLL:19,900
1-1 Polar Zone Win 1000
4-5 Providence Win 1000
7-14 Aurelio Win 1000
Closing Bankroll:16,900
RETURNS
4-5 Providence 38 3800
New Bankroll=16900+3800=20,700
