What on paper looked like a battle if two giants,turned out to be an one-sided affair. Amazing Grace was simply too good at this time of her career for the multi-classic winner Alaindair.  Wish more succes to the champion filly in all her future endeavours,will be interesting to see what her connections decide for the future. If she stays in India,it would be a great invitation as she would try to become the first older horse to win the now revamped Turf Invitation Cup,which is now set on the lines of The Prix Arc De Triomphe.  Alaindair although defeated is a champion in his own right and will live to fight another day. No one can take away the fact that he has earned more stake money in his career than any other horse racing in the country now,as he is a gelding one can expect him to run the invitation come march,he will certainly add more interest to this race. RACE 1:A CLASS V RACE OVER A MILE   The lone youngster in this set is  Cumbre Vieja  hasn't done much in its relatively long career for its age,will be a surprise if it puts up a winning gallop here  Having said that I feel that the race has a good competitive feel about it with  MORALS  in the fray,it has gone down to  THE MYTH  early on in the season and again to  Ace Fantasy  in its last start,the supporters of this horse should hope that he doesn't find one better this time around  There is the presence of  Copperglow  who in his last start failed to collar the speedy  Dishkayon ,now over a trip that may suit it better has a fighting chance  Chasing Dreams  comes into this race with a not so noticeable last run,its seasonal debut was eyecatching and is certainly a live horse here  Wind and Rain  will certainly relish the step up in distance,the stable is firing all guns now and its last start w...

RACE 1:A CLASS IV RACE OVER 1200m (5yo+) The better horse here without any doubt is St.Barts ,it comes into this race after a gap of almost 8 months,the horse is seen in the tracks and has two gate jumps in the past,paddock looks and weights will be an indication of the horses fitness The others have had a run this season,of them Flying Kiss the winner in the lower class picks itself as the horse to be beaten in this lower division of an upper class race,with a change in jockey has a fair chance to repeat  Sun Hot whose trainer has now opted for Yash Narredu is the immediate threat,the horse has run a forward race last time out and with the right intent can go all the way,again has a decent chance here  Barring an upstage from either Plan B or Speed Up (note both have a shimmer of hope,a shimmer is all enough in our sport) I feel this open looking race can well be won by the Antia ward Ocean Star ,her last run was too good to the eye,although the numbers might prove it otherwi...

Race 1:Class V race over 1400 mts  Three 3yo's are in the fray, Light Of Arabia  is certainly the top contender amongst them,as 3 yo are bound to improve a fair chance  However I feel the winner should be from the other four horses  Alectar  jumps down in class,gets two equipment changes and has the ace jockey in the saddle,the horse to be beaten in this race  BackStreet Bay  is running after a long lay off,has a good jockey on the saddle and has only one solitary track,if fit can give a tough challenge  Star Builder  is the horse in form,trainer hasn't started to fire winners this season,is the dark un in this race as it likes the distance and also has decent runs in the near past to go by  However, Zaan  who had a rather not too much to look at run in the opener of the season over 5f,now travels over 7f. Race 1:Class V race over 1200 mts  Youngsters dominate the number in this race,5/7 horses are three year olds  Of the older horses,the one that catches the eye is  Star Benevolent . Its been a kind of a horse that I have followed during last Mumbai season,ran its best race in its last start at Mumbai wherein he was outdone by  Concorde ,he has a fighting chance in this race  Of the youngsters  Leothefiercehorse  and  Without Fear  are the two horses to look out for,the former with top jockey and a trainer who has been scoring this season especially with the jockey seems to have an edge  However  Star Benevolent  has the best chance to score here,especially as it gets a switch of jockeys to  C.S.Jodha ,has a run benifit and its last track spurt is good too. Race 1:Class V race over 1200 mts  A div-II of a class V race will start the proceedings on the first classic day of the Mysore season.  Dream Neo 's last run was something that can be ignored as the horse ran into too much of problems during the race,yet finished a decent fourth and is certainly the top contender in this race  Quarter Cask,Cute Beast and Our Commander  are three horses that can extend the former  Of the three horses  Our Commander  has a benifit of a forward run,a good last spurt and arguably the best jockey in the field  Cute Beast  gets a change in saddle support along with positive change in shoes  Quarter Cask's  last run is best ignored,but for the negative shoes can give a good account of itself.
