06/12/15 Analysis and Selections
Hello Friends,
The Mumbai card has eight races slated for the day with the running of The Deltin Stayers Challenge as the feature of the day along with The Metro Motors H M Mehta Sprint Challenge as an additional attraction in the course of the day,as such both races have a decent purse as per Mumbai standards and the accreditation of a graded status may follow in the coming years for these races. Here is my analysis and personal fancies for the day
Race 1:A class III race over 1200m (5yo+)
Sindbaad and Basic Life two horses in the bottom of the scales look like possible contenders here the second named horse has been hovering around in these weights for sometime and with the claimer may try to take advantage of the feather weight
Vasco Da Gama albeit the long layoff has winning form, keep an eye
Then there is the trio of Hunt For Heads,Beyond Horizon and Samba Warrior in the fray and these three have faced each other earlier too and to my understanding I feel that Beyond Horizons having a run benefit this season earlier has a good chance to make full use of it and is my personal fancy
My Choice:#1 Beyond Horizon Win
Race 2:A race for 2yo Maidens over 1200m
Never Say No,seems to be better prepared of the four horses with Hasta La Vista seemingly having both the pedigree and jockey in its favour
There is not much to analyse here and may the best horse win
Race 3:A class V race over 1600m
Dia,Marvel,Charging Empress,Pracs are the four horses that I could shortlist in this race
Dia although a maiden has been in the follow-list of me for sometime and now that it gets another jockey of good repute again i think the intent would be positive enough
Pracs has been running some good races too and should be in the contention again
Marvel and Charging Empress are the two other horses that have age and even better jockeys on them and of the two since the latter has gone over a mile it happens to be my personal fancy
My Choice:#1 Charging Empress Win/Place
Race 4:A class II race over 1400m
Rule Downunder and Melinda are basically the contenders according to me in this race with Alderly Edge who had won a 6f race in one of its earlier starts as a possible upsetter here
Brahmachari, the lone 3yo in the field has a run benefit earlier won over the 7f trip at pune and as such cannot be ruled out
My Choice:#2 Melinda Win
Race 5:A Terms race over 1000m (4yo+)
Brynhill,Wayout,Dancing Phoenix and Ladybird are the four horses that look like possible contenders to me here
Brynhill best run was when it finished second to Solomon on invitation day and is a good 1000m horse
Ladybird although a good contender and is receiving weight from all with a good jockey in the saddle may find herself out of depth in this field,I may be wrong as horse is from top yard
Way Out holds the record for the 5f trip and now is a good thing here
Dancing Phoenix has done well over the trip and has been running at Bangalore Summer season too and has been failing over 6f trips, now with Sandesh repeating after a long time and going over the 5f trip is my personal fancy here
My Choice:#5 Dancing Phoenix Win
Race 6:A class IV race over 1400m
Remember The Time who cleared maiden ranks last time finds itself in a good company for it and Few Dollars More who after having some questionable runs comes into contention here yet again
Replica also gets a positive jockey here and as such would be in contention
Have a look at Zephir who is now making rather a belated debut is prepared well and is my personal fancy
My Choice:#11 Zephir Win
Race 7:A terms Race over 2400m
Quasar the multi-classic and multi-graded winner is taking on Shivalik Showers and Azurro here
May the best horse win :)
Race 8:A class IV race over 1200m
The Soprano,Troppa Bella,Kandinsky and Cool Runnings are the four horses that seem like probable contenders here with Colm O Donoghue's mount running after a lay-off
Of the four Troppa Bella seems to be prepared well and is the strongest contender here
Kandinsky has been a subject of a missing Tongue Strap run last time out as a favourite and now with the trainer-jockey combo winning races in recent weeks is a clear danger to all
Then there is Cool Runnings who did well with V.Jodha to win over a shorter trip is now going over an extra furlong yet has been subject to a change in jockey to Sandesh and is seemingly well placed again in the same class and is my personal fancy here
My Choice:#10 Cool Runnings Win
