Bangalore 12/07/15
Hello Friends,
A nine event race card has been formed for the derby day at Bangalore, here is my analysis and personal fancies of the same
Race 1:A class IV race over 1400m
Mr Bigshot,Spiritual Act,Del Porto,Precious Glitter all appeal due to obvious reasons, the former has ace jockey on duty and he is riding the horse for the second time with a change in equipment which is quite an indication in itself.
Also Elegant Star which has had two pretty good runs in this class is well placed on the scales here vis-a-vis Precious Glitter, and is also working well on the trial tracks,my personal fancy
My Choice:#6 Elegant Star Win
Race 2:For maiden 3yo horses over 1200m
Assertive Prince, who is tracking well has to negotiate the wider draw this time and should be in the contention
Amethyst, who has run twice this season is now getting a huge switch in saddle support, although his runs here weren't as impressive as one would like it has faced good company ay Hyd in Million races, keep an eye
Both Zubaida and One Big Gang are runner ups when they ran last, both ran in the same season, the latter ran in a good bunch and is seemingly having a clear cut edge to score in this race,my personal fancy
My Choice:#3 One Big Gang Win
Race 3:A race for Maiden 3yo over 1400m
Native Elements, who ran a good secod to heaven is here over the same trip is now getting a change in jockey to Suraj and is expected to run well here
Stevalena who has run along with the creme de la creme of Calcutta is having a run benefit earlier in the season and on the back of it is a strong contender in this race
Also there is the presence of horses like I've Got Clout,Spirit and Truth etc who can make this race interesting
New Crown who has an interesting choice of jockey is coming out a race from winter where it had finished behind Auriga,it is subject to some stern preparation and is my personal fancy in what looks like an open affair
My Choice:#6 New Affair Win
Race 4:A class II race over 1800m
Torchbearer, for all reasons appeal on the first look in this race,it has won twice over the mile and has advertised its fitness with a good second over Arabian Warrior in the same race,Spreadeagle who gained a lot of ground in that race also comes into contention thanks to the super switch in jockey
Ambitious Reward, although shouldering top weight has a strong rider in the saddle and having been a horse who has matched strides with the best, keep an eye
Zucchero,is placed well on the scales of the race, however still being a maiden is something that may go against it
Azzuro, won well last time over 1400m beating Vijays Joy,retains the winning jockey and is placed well in the same class again and is the moral for this race,my personal fancy
My Choice:#2 Azzuro Win
Race 5:A class IV race over 1400m
Absolutely Fabulous and Cameron, both won their first starts well and will be in much demand over this race, although the form of the former has held on well,I have a feeling that the latter is well bred and will be the strongest contender here
The challenge should come from the likes of Royal Seal, whose trainer had a well backed winner on saturday and has a good handicap chance to land the spoils and All In who after having a run in the upper class is demoted with a positive switch in the saddle with good workouts.
A very open affair this with some 4yo's like Soviet Union and Hector who can be outsiders are also in the fray
My Choice:#3 All In Win
Race 6:A class III race over 1200m
Goldberg,Private Paradise,Suzanna all come into this race from the same race which was won by Goldberg,it is to be seen if he could give weights and a beating yet again to horses in the same class, the winning jockey is repeating again
Suzanna is a horse which looks well prepared after its debut at Bangalore, has won two very good races at its home centre
Last start winners in Striking View and Expert (4yo) will also add good interest to this race
I feel Suzanna should run a big race here and is my personal fancy
My Choice:#4 Suzanna Win
RACE 7:The Kingfisher Summer Derby (Gr.I) over 2000m (3yo)
Eternal Flame has a well advertised form, its task cut out with a pacemaker in the fray, like most of the horses venturing into the unknown, yet is the best filly in the field
Thus coming to the colts and geldings there is too much to read into Auriga who is supplemented for this race with a late entry and having Suraj in the saddle.
Authototarian was off-colour in its last start and with an improved performance can surprise in this field
Also there is the presence of Desert God,who is prepared well and has a favourable draw unlike last time and has David Allan to judge the pace of the race for what is seemingly an early-presser,my personal fancy due to the pedigree and relative merit
My Choice:#4 Desert God Win
Race 8:A class IV race over 1600m (4yo+)
Prize Finder, who has been running with good company is getting a top weight specialist jockey and for all reasons is the horse to be taken care of in this race
Take a look at Real Supreme, who has had a run in this season over 1200m,a start to finish winner over 1800m and is the strong challenger here
True that there are presence of some good horses in the fray in Alecia,Hidden Deal etc who are coming into this race with hidden form and James Bond and Western Union who are also right there in contention
Legend of the Sky,is one of the very few non-winner of the sire Win Legend of its crop, has been showing very good improvement in tracks after its first run and should come up a lot here,my personal fancy
My Choice:#9 Legend of The Sky Win/Place
Race 9:A race for Maiden 3yo over 1200m
El Fenix,Super Success,One to Note and Amber Sky all seem like horses that could be termed as contenders in this race,I for one like the preparations of Amber Sky who was planted in its last start and lost but is now extensively prepared for a good show
My Choice:#8 Amber Sky Win
Days Best:Suzanna
Good Bet(s):Elegant Star,Azzurro
Have a good day :)
