Bangalore 11/07/15
Hello Friends,
The Bangalore season has reached its peak with the Bangalore Kingfisher Summer Derby slated for the weekend, the Pre-Derby day has a card of eight races and here is my bit of analysis and personal fancies for the same.
Race 1:For 3yo maidens over 1600m
Amazing Charm, who has had quite a moderate start to its career has found a horse too-good twice in its four career starts, now with blinkers on and having had an exposure of the trip is certainly in the mix here
Adolf,Saladin and Avant Grande are the three other horses in the fray, who can be expected to put their best foot forward and improve in their second career run
Adolf, who did not take a level jump covered a lot of ground to finish second in its last start in a moderate company, now the extended trip and gate practices mean he's in the reckoning
Avant Grande the mumbai challenger had a good debut, and is being prepared quite well to have her say in this race
Saladin who had burst his blood vessels on debut has been prepared quite well by his trainer, hoping that bv doesn't occur again and also taking into the account the change in saddle support this horse is my personal fancy
My Choice:#3 Saladin Win
Race 2:A Terms race for 3yo horses over 1400m
Conspicuous, who was one of the fancied runners in the Fillies Championship stakes is now making a bid here over 1400m after faltering there, she was well up with the pace and faltered later,as such she is a strong contender in this race
Bold Appeal, who is in the reckoning in this race after making a decent track debut in the Bangalore Juvenile Million in its last start, with better saddle support chances are good
Areca Wonder, who is experienced and a million winner over the same trip at Hyderabad has run two graded races in this season, now runs against a set that is quite moderate and is very well in the fray
Garuda and New Crown, both winners while making their seasonal debut in the fray, the latter came out with a brilliant performance in its first career start and there is scope for improvement,as such is a live danger here
Also Heaven is Here, who did well to win its Maiden in its last start is getting weights and as such cannot be ignored
This race certainly wears an open look, but the last start win of New Crown was most impressive and another such performance will make it put a bold show again
My Choice:#7 New Crown Win
Race 3:A class V race over a Mile
To The Future, which has had two decent runs earlier this season retains the same jockey and as such is a strong contender in this race
Amalfi Coast, which was promising in the track spurts before making its debut now runs with a positive switch of jockey after having a run benefit earlier in the season, the weights and the distance are to be factored
Tuscano who is making its seasonal debut this time around will also be in the contention more so because of the fact that it had performed well over this distance with the same jockey in the saddle, keep an eye
Fleet Street and Animal Instincts also come into contention, the latter having had a run earlier this season and subject to jockey change is the one I'm expecting to run a good race here
My Choice:#10 Animal Instincts Win/Place
Race 4:A class III race over 1400m (4yo+)
Remembrance Of You,is a very well bred horse who was once highly thought of is one of the strong challengers in this race
Russian Link,Romeo and Southern Fantasy all have one thing or the other going for them in this race and this race looks good in competition
However have a look at Supreme Dominator, who beat a youngster last time out is placed well on promotion and also has a positive switch in saddle support, has a good chance to make it two in a row,my personal fancy
My Choice:#10 Supreme Dominator Win
Race 5:A class IV race over 1200m
Commissariat, who made a good debut in class IV,failed to do well in its next start over a galloping trip, now over its winning trip in new stables one cannot neglect this horse
Mister Majestic who has run two good races in this season is still a maiden,it is now getting a change in jockey and is running in a handicap from a maiden race, strong contender here
Sir Majestic, who did not perform as well as one would have liked it to perform is having a change in jockey, not much to read into it
Danburite, also comes into reckoning after its win over 1100m in maiden class, retaining its winning jockey again the chances of winning again are rosy in this set
Also keep an eye on Haptic Star, who ran a decent race after veering out in its previous runs and I Smile who is the dark horse here
My Choice:#4 Danburite Win
Race 6:A terms race over 1400m (4yo+)
The Feature of the day, thanks to the field and the various scenarios with which some of the horses are coming into this race, this race wears an open look
Zachary, the lone Gr.I winner in the fray has never won over this trip and is a specialist miler, having been stationed at Bangalore it is subjected to scarce amount of work
Acclaimed and Speed Six,both would wear the same silks also come into contention, the former is a good miler too,the later has been a versatile horse and has won over this too thus posses danger
Then there is Arrogant Approach who ran against the likes of Be Safe,in its first start this season should come a lot for this run
Also the duo of MR stud horses in Royal Salute and I'm Different in the fray, the former seems like a 7f specialist and should be very much in contention
Smilestone, who has won a graded race earlier in the season over the 6f trip is at best an outsider
My Choice:#10 Royal Salute Win/Place
Race 7:A class II race over 1400m
Ageless who has been running races in very good company ran a below par race in the fillies championship stakes last time out but is nevertheless a strong challenger in this class II affair
The Lieutenant is also coming into the fray thanks to the age factor, ran a very competitive race in its last start and won well,in strong contention here
Then there is Vivid Impression, who started this season with a good win in the same class and followed it up with a decent third despite being bumped,on demotion it is trusted to a jockey who has combined well with this trainer and is a livewire in this race
Also have a look at Priceless Ace,who after completing a hat-trick in winter has had a run this season and with a start-finish bid can make this race interesting.
My Choice:#10 Priceless Ace Win/Place
Race 8:A class III race over 1400m
Renee,Fresh Start,Androstos,Rustic Sunrise,Secret Dimension are the five horses that come into contention ahead of Southern Sky in this race,I might be erring in leaving out a horse who has a top jockey in the bottom of the scales
However on close study I feel that Renee and Androstos (either one of them) should take this race, the latter won a hard fought rave last time out and should be in the thick of things here too
My Choice:#3 Androstos Win
DAYS BEST:NEW CROWN
GOOD BET(s):SALADDIN,SUPREME DOMINATOR
Have a good day :)
