Hello Friends,
A card of eight races has been framed for the day, here is my analysis and choices for the same, the pre-derby lull is quite visible among the acceptors with many trainers holding their better wards for derby weekend, saturday's racing is the victim.Anyhow races are like puzzles and they come in all types, here is my take
Race 1:A race for Maiden 3yo's over 1100m
A short scurry to kick off the day,of the horses who have had a run before,Lozen who is now getting a switch in jockey had fared decently,it was subject to a good gate practice before its last run and as such is a horse with good credentials in this race
Expertise also gets a change in saddle support and has been working well in the trial tracks, both its runs were dismal to say the least,as the set here is very poor can hope to improve on that effort
Aspasia is also not visible in the trial tracks for a larger part of the last month, was prominent in the earlier stages of the race before breaking its blood vessels during its last run, keep an eye
of the debutants the pick is Freestyle, who is out of a sire who threw good number of winners last year, having the services of a jockey in good form and a subject to some systematic preparation I expect this horse to run a decent race tomorrow and is my pick for this race
My Choice:#6 Freestyle WIN
Race 2:A class IV race (4yo+) over 1200m
Fruit Prince, which carried top weight and went on a start to finish mission last time out is again subject to decent preparation and has the same jockey on-board,is the top contender according to me in this race
Gift Of Love, who is running some game races has decided to take a chance in this age group,a live contender nevertheless due to the promising apprentice on board
Then there is the presence of Secret Prayer, who was declared a non-starter in the last race earlier had a good lung opener in Tronada's 1400m race and as such is a strong contender in this race with a Mock Race to its credit
I Smile,is also a contender who has been in the thick of things folate, tis horse is also subject to a lung opener and if it hits the front will be a live-wire at the finish, keep an eye also Little Brown Jug who is now under a new trainer and has positive change in shoes and decent preparations to go by is another horse who might prove its worth here
My Choice:#5 Secret Prayer WIN
Race 3:A class IV race over 1400m
Absolutely Fabulous, the lone 3 yo winner in this set who won on debut drawing away seems like having a bright chance to follow it up over the extended trip here, the top contender in this race
All other horses are backward and it would be a surprise if anyone overwhelms the favourite, thus this race is for academic purposes alone
My Choice:#1 Absolutelyfabulous WIN
Race 4:A class III race over a mile (4yo+)
For all analytical reasons,Sharp Witted who is on course for a hat-trick across three different classes should be given due respect, for a horse who had won during the Invitation weekend at Mumbai and to repeat it at Bangalore there is hope to make it three in a row
The Artist, whose last win was under slush conditions at Mysore and had run in good company after that is placed reasonably well in this race, subject to a change in stable and it has a good run in the beginning of the season and such comes into this race with strong credentials, the change in stables not withstanding
The same can be said of Passing Fulcrum, who after winning a class IV race at mysore over a 9f trip was running races in good company, and is the dark un in this race
However I feel that Big Ticket and Mystic Music are no pushovers either and the latter especially has run two good races earlier in the season and is placed well to strike well here
My Choice:#1 Passing Fulcrum Win/Place
Race 5:A class II race over 1400m
Mickey Mouse and Amazing Desire both from allied stables appeal on first look, the former has the better jockey of the two and has also performed well earlier to be considered here as a strong contender
Pearl Reward is coming out a smashing win in its last start and with the trainer starting to fire, keep an eye
However I feel that the youngsters in Pentagram who has now retained Trevor Patel again could do well subject to a level jump and so is the case with the sparingly raced Merion who has two starts this season and based on his last start should come up a lot after that run and is my personal fancy
My Choice:#7 Merion WIN
Race 6:For Maiden 3yo's over 1100m
Faster Than Light who is drawn favourably and has the ability to hit the front comes as the contender by default in this race, has run two good races in this track and is the one to look out for
Dignified and Rain Kissed are also the horses in the fray that appeal, the former has a huge switch in saddle support and the latter has some good work and will be there in the thick of things despite the jockey
Neymar,Wild Wild West and Way We Were are the three debutants in the fray that could make a race of it here, the first named has the ace jockey in the saddle but however I expect the last named horse to run a good one here, both the trainer and the jockey are yet to break their duck this season and this horse is a wild card
My Choice:#9 Way We Were Win/Place
Race 7:A class IV race over 1200m (4yo+)
Forest Queen, who is subject to a change in equipment and jockey is running a week after finishing close Androstos, had earlier finished behind Expert and should be given due respect in this set
The challengers being Sairani,Ontime,Major Attraction,Zulfiqar and Vencedora
Zulfiqar after failing as a favourite is now taking a help of a claimer and one has to see how it fares, also Ontime has been in the thick of things for quite somtime and it will be interesting to see how he fares here, given the field stands a good chance
However I feel that it is Vencedora, who is a proven customer twice in this distance now being demoted and having a claimer on top,the draw being 1 will also add to its chances as it has shown good initial speed earlier on in its runs and a such is my personal fancy
My Choice:#1 Vencedora WIN
Race 8:A class V race over 1400m(5yo+)
Joey is the first horse to catch the eye in this race, slowly off and covering a lot of ground managed to score a good second last time out and with the same jockey repeating should do well
Mister Grey also gets a huge switch in saddle support and is the one to keep an eye on
There are horses like Attractive Bay,Rakshit,Mystic Lavenders,Liquid Asset in the fray that could add a certain pep to the finish in this race
However it is Inspirator, who now gets a switch in jockey and is possibly having a good chance to score in this set and as such is my personal fancy
My Choice:#11 Inspirator Win/Place
Day's Best:Merion
Good Bet(s):Freestyle,Vencedora
