Hyderabad Fillies Championship 25/08/14

The first classic of the monsoon season,will be followed by colts and derby at Hyderabad. Then Mysore fillies,colts the derby,The Kolkata Derby and The Pune Derby ! A classic is always an Intruiging puzzle to solve,especially when there are contenders from centres like Mumbai and Bangalore go head to head against local contenders,as in Hyderabad this time 

The form of Be Safe has held in most of the races (the defeat of Shivalil Storm notwithstanding) thus the winner can be expected from horses who have a line either directly or indirectly to the Summer Champion 

Two horses now come head to head on that count and they are Culebra (the sole horse in this set to come out from the Bangalore Derby) and Godspeed (although haven't run against Be Safe,finished third to Maisha (the horse in my blogs header,a wonderful filly) what's interesting to know is that both fillies have matched strides with each other in the Fillies championship at Bangalore,although the latter had got the better of the former there,one has to take I to account the very next runs of both the fillies,Godspeed won the prestigious event in The Bangalore Summer Million (horses who have won this event have sooner or latter reached great heights in their careers,In The Spotlight and An Acquired Taste are examples! And Culebra ran second to the mighty Be Safe during the Bangalore Derby,true the distance was different,there wasn't any presence of horses like Maisha in that race,yet it was an improved performance on a day of slush going..... 

Feliciana is the other mystery horse in this race,won on derby day and Padmanaban's astounding success with Ace's progenies in the classics are astounding (no other trainer has won with an Ace progeny at a classic as far as I can remember . It has to be said that this horse has to take a leap of class to make it here! 

There's a lot of talk about Supreme Fairy,horse has been running in handicap races and taking her first classic race,for horses to take this route is very unconventional. The jockey-trainer combination for this centre is well known and the backers of this horse have that as a plus 

Connemara from Glory Of Dancer is another horse that has just made everything right in the trail tracks,again the run in a handicap race and then the Bangalore Derby suggests that this horse has to take a giant leap to win here 

Thus for me this race is about two horses,Godspeed and Culebra 

The former has the jockey who has flown in from Macau,Suraj Narredu 

The latter has the man for the perfect occasion in Y S Srinath 

Its a close call and I am expecting Culebra to reverse the form against Godspeed when they met last time and give her sire Phoenix Tower the much awaited first classic,and I feel this horse has the best chance to do it........ 

My Choice:#2 Culebra for win

Hello Friends,                          By the time this post gets completed it would be just an hour or two before racetime,anyways hope it helps those who could read it RACE 1: Multigory: won maiden race in his second start and has won class class 4,class 3 and class 53-79 races subsequently,the last two start winner has hit sublime form and is the one to watch out for Jeanine: A first start winner over 5f to clear maidens has subsequently won class 3 and class 2,pune has been a better hunting ground. Pune Races 08/09/2013 Analysis and Selections

Hello friends,                       A card of 8 races have been framed for Sunday,with  The Southern Command Trophy  as the feature event of the day.  Race no 1:A race for horses in class IV (5yo+) over 1400 mts  Matter of heart,Samay Balwan and Star Builder  are the three last outing winners out of the eleven runners in this set,with the former being the winner in the same class and the other two runners are up on promotion. Star builder's  win was pretty easy last time out in the hands of  Dashrath Singh  now on promotion win looks difficult, Samay Balwan  just managed to hold on in the lower class,the same can be said of this horse too  Thus I guess the winner should probably come from this set of horses  Scaramouche,Zaracha,Guns N roses,Brave fighter   Brave fighter  ran third behind  Cypress point  during its only run this season,gets  Trevor Patel  in the saddle,placed well on scales here may spring a surprise  Zaracha  ran second to  Queen's kiss  over 1200 mts,running

Bangalore selections and analysis 27/07

Race no 1: A race for class V horses over 1200 mts On the outset this race looks extremely tricky thanks to the the form? of the runners in this race.  Mountain Train which runs after a long lay-off after its winter adventure looks like a contender here purely based on its track form,but as always its a lottery to assume if the horse after a lay off can put up a winning gallop just after returning or will it need this run? But it is prepared extensively ignore at will That brings me back to two horses which have relatively good form in Will still and Star of desire ,both have reasonable form and the latter a demotee with a switch in jockey has come down a lot in ratings  My choice:#1 Star of Desire for Win  Race no 2:A race for Class V horses over 1200 mts Upper division of the previous race,the field is comprised of many youngsters,here too form is not seen in plenty  Rubi Rey ,which ran in the upper class finished fourth to My Faviurite voice, now drops down in grade with a chance in
