Bangalore 08/06/14 Analysis and Selections

Hello Friends, 
                     It was a bizzare Saturday afternoon as the Bangalore Summer Meeting proved its competitive nature by throwing out some lucrative winners of which none was my choice,then after the races witnessed the live webcast of the Epsom Derby which was won in taking style by Australia. A CARD OF 8 AWAITS US TOMORROW WITH THE GR 2 KARNATAKA MILE CHAMPIONSHIP AS THE FEATURE OF THE DAY 

RACE NO 1:A CLASS IV RACE OVER 1200 mts 

Major Attraction won his first start this season very well indeed and is now retained in the same class,tracking well and sees a switch in jockey to Imran Khan who is coming back after a layoff,now will the weights take a toll on him is the ? 

The other 3 yo in this race in Zulu Fantasy is coming off a 3rd place over 1100 mts in its last start,now that it enjoys a non-winner handicap and is receiving weights from the former has a chance to go past the wire

It would be a surprise if any other except these two win tomorrow according to me and as per the reasons given above Zulu Fantasy is my fancy for this race 

My Choice:#4 Zulu Fantasy for win 

RACE NO 2:A class IV race (4yo+) over 1400 mts 

Both  Woodberg and Ace Shine On are two last start winners coming into this race. The very fact that the former win her last start in a convincing manner makes her an almost universal choice to win this race 

But then despite all her credentials the weights she is assigned to carry may play spoilsport,one can argue that she won her last race on similiar weights but that was a race where weights were raised and now she finds herself in a completely different scenario 

Ace Shineon might have been the immediate threat but the shoe change to steel most of the times indicate a negative intention thus discounting this horse to win this race so am looking elsewhere for a chance bet 

The horse that catches the eye is Jet Set Go,having a benifit if a run this season and now gets a switch in jockey to D.K.Ashish,he is also seen in the tracks and can extend the favourite and am hoping for the best 

My Choice:#6 Jet Set Go for Win 

RACE NO 3:A race for 3 yo maidens over 1200 mts 

Coldstream,the got-abroad which is all set to make its debut,has been seen in the tracks regularly over the pat month or so,facing some relatively experienced opposition and a win although not impossible is a bit difficult to achieve 

There is Simply Clever,Black Power,Equal terms or even Miracle of Life who can bother the former 

But keep an eye on Expert who has hit the board in all its three starts,the trainer has opted to geld the horse and the horse seems to be working well after that too,now with V.R.Jagdish in the saddle this horse looks like the one that can spring a minor surprise in this race and is my personal fancy for this race 

My Choice:#3 Expert win/place 

RACE NO 4:A race over 1400 mts for class IV horses (4yo+) 

DIAMOND QUEST and OPTIMISTIC have taken two different routes while coming into this race,the former is a demotee where as the latter has been penalised rather heavily for his last win in the lower class,both of them are prime contenders in this race 

However my follow horse in Arziki who ran a good second behind Ungoogleable earlier this season is seen in action,and in all probability might be the horse to beat here,has the bottom weights to tackle and a positive switch in saddle support coupled with a ground gaining last run over 1200 mts makes this horse my personal fancy in this race 

My choice:#7 Arziki for win 

RACE NO 5:A Gr.2 race over a Mile 

The feature event of the day,ten horses have lined up for this event 

AGOSTINI is a winner of the Bangalore winner derby and a runner in the Indian Turf Invitaion cup,thus speaks volumes about his class,is working well and may well be the market fancy for this race,do not really agree with the argument that a mile will be too sharp for him yet he is now pitted against some mile specialists in the fray 

Immense and Ridgeway are two horses that have done well in the last over this distance,the former seems to be better prepared and will be looking for a back-back double in this race 

Czar of Romance is another horse that has run close to Agostini in the past and is the dark un if any in this race 

However the major threats should come from Supreme Star who is in rousing form,and looks like the horse that is in some very good shape from his track spurts,add to it the local champion in the saddle,chances look rosy 

Machiavellianism finds himself giving weight to the entire field in this race,his best performance in the recent past is his fourth in the Super Mile yet with Chouhan in the saddle he is the super hot horse for this race. The winner of the Indian 2000 guineas is surely suited best over a mile and with his track spurts pleasing,my personal fancy for this race 

My Choice:#1 Machiavellianism for win 

RACE NO 6:A class IV race over 1200 mts 

Nimfea is bred for speed and looking at the rivals in this race may well go to the post as the short priced favourite here,good luck 

Conrod is one horse which despite its age can trouble the former and if place odds are even or above will be a good place bet for the day 

NOTE:The place odds on Conrod will be too low and if you think Nimfea at 85p Presents good value,go for it

My Choice:#3 Nimfea for win

RACE NO 7:A class II race over 1600 mts 

Winged Foot the winner of the Bangalore Oaks,Ace Bucephalus who has matched strides with the best of the classic crop of his age,Supreme Regime who found Chase The Sun too hot in his last run are three horses that can run close to AMAZING GRACE,her last win over 2000 was as effortless as one can get and here even against this healthy rivals she can win here comfortably

My Choice:#9 Amazing Grace for win 

RACE NO 8: A class v race over 1100 mts 

Both Big Copper Penny and Tradition are coming out of the same race and the former now seems to be better placed to do better than the latter and is therefore the prime contender in this race 

However Stimulator is the horse that appeals the most,it is tracking well and the distance will be suited well for this horse along with a major switch in saddle support 

My Choice:#5 Stimulator for win 

Day's Best:Amazing Grace 

Double:Arziki-Machiavellianism

Pune Races 08/09/2013 Analysis and Selections

Hello friends,                       A card of 8 races have been framed for Sunday,with  The Southern Command Trophy  as the feature event of the day.  Race no 1:A race for horses in class IV (5yo+) over 1400 mts  Matter of heart,Samay Balwan and Star Builder  are the three last outing winners out of the eleven runners in this set,with the former being the winner in the same class and the other two runners are up on promotion. Star builder's  win was pretty easy last time out in the hands of  Dashrath Singh  now on promotion win looks difficult, Samay Balwan  just managed to hold on in the lower class,the same can be said of this horse too  Thus I guess the winner should probably come from this set of horses  Scaramouche,Zaracha,Guns N roses,Brave fighter   Brave fighter  ran third behind  Cypress point  during its only run this season,gets  Trevor Patel  in the saddle,placed well on scales here may spring a surprise  Zaracha  ran second to  Queen's kiss  over 1200 mts,running

Bangalore selections and analysis 27/07

Race no 1: A race for class V horses over 1200 mts On the outset this race looks extremely tricky thanks to the the form? of the runners in this race.  Mountain Train which runs after a long lay-off after its winter adventure looks like a contender here purely based on its track form,but as always its a lottery to assume if the horse after a lay off can put up a winning gallop just after returning or will it need this run? But it is prepared extensively ignore at will That brings me back to two horses which have relatively good form in Will still and Star of desire ,both have reasonable form and the latter a demotee with a switch in jockey has come down a lot in ratings  My choice:#1 Star of Desire for Win  Race no 2:A race for Class V horses over 1200 mts Upper division of the previous race,the field is comprised of many youngsters,here too form is not seen in plenty  Rubi Rey ,which ran in the upper class finished fourth to My Faviurite voice, now drops down in grade with a chance in
