The Bangalore Fillies Championship Stakes Day 15/6/14 analysis and selections
Hello friends,
A card of 8 races has been framed for the first classic day of this season, here is my analysis and personal fancies for the day
RACE NO 1:For 3 yo maidens only over 1200 mts
FAST LADY which has had two runs at Mumbai is now running for the first time at Bangalore, tracking well and on its past performances plus the jockey switch, looks like the horse to be beaten here
JINGLE BELLS however is a local hopeful, has strong credentials to put up a notable performance here as he has the form from the winter season plus local champion on the saddle
Then there are two debutants in Millrose who is from a stable which is red-hot this season,is tracking well and don't be surprised if he wins and then there is VIJAY VAIBHAV in this race who is out of Teofilo, this got abroad gelding may have an edge over others especially looking at its sireline
FLYING ANGEL which finished fourth to Honeymoon on its debut at Mumbai sure scores over others on relative form, has a solitary track spurt here and may well be on the fighting for the top spot in this race
VIJAY VAIBHAV seems like the horse that is ready to strike by seeing its trackworks, also add to it the saddle support and its bloodlines, has the best chance to win this race,FLYING ANGEL and JINGLE BELLS should also run well and find a place spot here
MY CHOICE:#3 Vijay Vaibhav for WIN
RACE NO 2:A CLASS IV RACE OVER 1100 mts
Grand Applause will be the overwhelming favourite here,is tracking well, positive change in equipment and saddle suppor are its pro's. The weights assigned plus running after a longish gap of over 200 days will be its shortcomings.
ANMOL HIRA and CATCH THE EYE are two promotees, the latter is a runaway winner over 1200 mts,has been penalised a lot for that effort
ANMOL HIRA on the other hand led till Kimora took over, now retains the same jockey and may spring a minor surprise here
LIEGE LORD,after running behind Keukenhof and Racing Ahead on his first two starts last summer season, had a solitary run in the last winter season, and now can it perform with this jockey is the ?
There is Aero Star who has also advertised early speed, now sitting pretty on the bottom of the scales, chances look good
Two 3 yo's are in the fray there's nothing to write home about both of them. If by any chance Conjurer pulls out an upset the only reasoning has to be his latest track spurt
An open race this, however I feel that Grand Applause may need this run and the winner should emerge from either Leige Lord or Aero Star, however as the race wears a very open look would like to play an e/w on this horse
My Choice:#10 Aero Star for win/place
RACE NO 3:A class III race over 1400 mts
The two 3 yo's in the fray Merion and Salina are the two horse that will in most probability give us the winner
On form, timings and preparation Merion looks outstanding,it will all depend on whether the odds are worth or not. At 80 p or above I guess there is value for this horse
Santa Ana ran a very good race keep an eye,can place
My Place:#4 Merion for win
RACE NO 4:A class II race over 1400 mts
Two runners in Ace Badraan and Pursuit of Fame are coming Into this race after their respective classic appearances at Bangalore and Hyderabad.
Of the two the former looks a tad better on scales and is the horse to be beaten here
Both Alcazaaba and Invincible Prince have finished second in both their last starts, the very fact that Invincible Prince is coming out of a very good race makes him the most popular horse in this race, but then for a horse which hits the front the weights it may carry may become a concern.
Then there are Lad King and Valahak who can on their day can beat this set but I hope that tomorrow is not their day,if possible add in your pool tickets
Madame Bovary is a winner in this same class and distance, gets a huge switch in saddle support and seems to be tracking well, thus on relative merit and weights appeal the most
In this another open-looking race,Madame Bovary may represent good value and thus is my personal fancy for this race
My Choice:#6 Madame Bovary for win
RACE NO 5:The Fillies Championship Stakes (Gr.1) over a mile
This years renewal of the fillies mile is a fascinating race in the offing,I am of the opinion that the following five horses has the chance in my opinion to win this race from this field.
ALEXANDRA MILLS-from the stables of Darius Byramji and ridden by Imran Chisty has a 2/3 record. A benifit of a run this season in which she scored a very good win on the same day Be Safe won authorotatively at Bangalore Summer season's opening week clearly shows there may not be many surprised looks if she does well, she hasn't been exposed a lot to this sort of a company and she has to prove herself here
GODSPEED is the lone Multidimensional filly to show what her stallions previous crop did last year, hope. From the yard of Mallesh Narredu, she went out at 7/1 to win on debut and later won her subsequent start giving weight to her opponents and only this time ridden by Suraj Narredu, unbeaten thus far faces her biggest challenge yet
MAISHA,is a horse which is best suited over this trip according to me,she has run second twice to the most talked about horse and a real serious colts contender Be Safe,on that formlines she does appeal a lot,the change in pilot may be a concern.
SCHIAVONE is a full sister to last years Indian 1000 guineas winner Mariinsky and also a full sister to Colts trial stakes winner a few years ago in Fleeting Arrow, after her ground covering debut victory she was taken to Mumbai where she ran 5th to Be Safe during the derby weekend, runs after a long gap and has the bloodlines to cause an upset, keep an eye
Then there is Tiger Tops, the winner of the fillies stakes at Mumbai and is now being ridden by the mainstay jockey of Pesi's stable,a clear favourite for this race as she has tackled the trip very well before and also comes from the top yard of the country.
Tiger Tops as of now has a slight edge over others and may very well give her master a back-back delight if she wins, however the other four horses are no pushovers,my personal fancy however is Maisha also from the same yard as her formlines, track spurts and a benifit of a run this season man tilt the race in her favour or Atleast make her finish in the top 3
My Choice:#8 Maisha for win/place
RACE NO 6:A race for 3 yo maidens over 1400 mts
Azzuro who is a got-abroad seems to be working well and can give a good account of himself on debut
Smoking Bell and On Time are two horses that can run him down, both of them are tracking well
With horses like His Highness and Starry Moment this is another open affair. However Azzuro on preparation seems like the horse they all have to beat as he is a got-abroad plus prepared well for a good show on debut
My Choice:#1 Azzuro for win
RACE NO 7:A RACE FOR HORSES IN CLASS IV OVER 1100 mts
DOUBLE O SEVEN,PANACHECORN,RAPIDEST are three 3 yo's who have cleared their maidens and have lost thereafter and seen in action in a class IV sprint handicap
Shinecock hills does seem like the well prepared horse who has plenty of speed thanks to her pedigree
Cattleya is also a winner of a maiden over a sprint, now seems to be well placed in the scales and may well be the upsetter in this race
My Choice:#6 Cattleya win/place
Race no 8:A class IV race over 1400 mts
Despite the prescence of My Lakshmi and Cannes along with others I guess this race is between Mystic Music and Turf Tactics
Although the latter has handicap advantahe and a massive switch in jockey support, the manner is which Mystic Music won last time out makes it simply outstanding in this set, chances are rosy
My Choice:#4 Mystic Music win
DAY's Best:Mystic Music
Double:Vijay Vaibhav-Merion
Upsetter:Cattleya
Have a nice day,gamble responsibly
