Invitation Weekend Day-1

Hello Friends,
It is a late post and i hope by the time i complete it it isnt too late to post, day 1 features THE Dr.MAM RAMASWAMY MEMORIAL STAYERS CUP and THE MYSORE RACE CLUB SPRINTERS CUP both Gr.1 races in what is akin to the Breeders cup in India..... Here are some thoughts about the feature and the undercard in what promises to be a day of some good racing

Race 1:A class IV affair to start the day that too for the older horses,D'Accord is a failed fav at  bombay class 4 last time out and is the highest rated amongst the maiden horses in the fray and should be respected in the opener of the day.Amazing Desire although is one of the oldest horses in the fray is a winner of the erstwhile class II and now class I race 3 years ago and the horse has showed some spark in its last few runs and with a change in jockey should not be discarded here,Hurrah is one more contender as it won a class V race at Mysore and has had a call in the upper class in his last start and now with YSS in the saddle there is intent.I think the first race is about these 3 horses barring an upset which is possible in these days. The value would be certainly with Amazing Desire and an each way punt would be more prudent,D'accord for the ones who dont take risks

My Choice:#2 D'Accord Win/#3 Amazing Desire (Upset)

Race 2:Winsomeness and Ninnon are the two frontrunners for this according to me in a sort of a race which could be anybody's..... the former has finished second over a mile in the upper class and would have value and as such is my fancy in the second of the day

My Choice:#3 Winsomeness Win/Place

Race 3:A race for maiden horses over 1400m with some very well bred horses in the fray,Automatic/Kambaku/Mauritania/Prevalent Force/Shaman/Daffodil/Implicit Trust are the ones that tick the list of probable contenders who could hoist the flag here, the experience is certainly with Kambaku who should fight the draw here and amongst others it is Mauritania and Automatic that could do well with respect to form preperation and draw, the progeny of Excellent Art picks by itself and as such is my first pick in this open affair

My Choice:#6 Mauritania Win

Race 4:Siobhan/Antananarivo/Arvak/Gypsy one among this should throw a winner and with respect to form, handicap and jockey-trainer combination the second named is my first pick in what should be a cracker of a race

My Choice:#5 Antananarivo Win

Race 5:Another open affair with many contenders, the two time failed favourite in Six Degrees is making a step up in trip and will be looking to clear maiden ranks,Blessed One and Sterling Role should also be in the hunt here and the one to beat would certainly be the last start winner Ravishing Snow.

My Choice:#2 Six Degrees Win

Race 6: THE Dr.MAM RAMASWAMY CHETTIAR OF CHETTINAD MEMORIAL STAYERS CUP

Booker Jones has matched strides amongst the best in the business and has relatively reasonable form coming into this race,On sheer class TinTinabulalation is the dark un here but his form oflate is a dampener.... Amongst the younger brigade Captain Morgan is being supported and for a horse that has won a classic at Chennai its true potential is still a ?

My Choice:#1 Booker Jones Win

Race 7:THE MYSORE RACE CLUB SPRINTERS CUP

A murky race to be bullish about, some very good horses have been drawn wide and a couple of speed horses are drawn on the inside, one of the most interesting aspect of the race is the duel between Dancing Prances and Dancing Phoenix, although the former had held its court at Bombay outside the realms of RWITC the latter has fared well so much so that I have come to a conclusion that it prefers shorter straights which makes both of them as probable contenders in this race, one more winner of the sprinters cup in Solomon is what may be a setback case should do well after a good lung opener last time out against Mickey Mouse which itself is a contender here but then there are couple of horses from a trainer who has made it a habit of winning this race but for Nefyn in the recent years in Pesi Shroff,Renee and Your Royal Majesty being the two the former was spoilt for space in its last run against Dancing Prances and the latter in YRM came from behind in what is a rather out of fashion run for it,I'm of the opinion that being bullish on a horse in this particular race would be stupid and with draw and some bit of pace handicapping in the back of the brain I feel that the dark un here is Your Royal Majesty and is worth an each way punt in the big un

My Choice:#13 Your Royal Majesty Win/Place

Race 8:Mariko/Expert/China One/Zubaida another race in the course of the day where i have toned down the challengers into these 4,amongst them the last two horses are maiden class winners where as Expert has won this very class and Mariko being a class IV winner of the old system, thus on class hierarchy China One and Zubaida should do well also Expert has the best intent and also handicap as it is now racing close to its last rating in which it won,a closelt matched race where instinct would pay

My Choice:#10 Zubaida Win

DAYS BEST:BOOKER JONES

Have a nice day,enjoy competitive racing :)
