Hello Friends,
Saturday's racing has a card of 8 races,here are my selections with a reason or two on why I like them......
1-3 Desert Gold is an youngster and demotee just like the other horse I'm interested in Roaring Thunder,what makes me go for Desert Gold is that its drawn 1 in a 1100m race and it has a lower burden to carry if one take into account the apprentices allowance and also the fact that the apprentice is doing well this season.
2-10 Zafran,from the top stable is facing a good number of opponents in Fabulous (failed fav and is looking to improve yet again) and Sterling Role (Who did well to finish second best on debut and certainly has the scope ti improve) not to forget the Paddy horses in the fray too,however Zafran was my choice when it ran last time and now with a switch in jockey and a change in jockey I feel there is hope....
3-4 Balian is no wonder penalised 5 points for his second to Babushka over 7f last time out and this once maiden class winner despite showing out in the last outing is my first choice against the likes of Back of Beyond (Who had earlier beaten youngsters over the same trip and is now going out with an apprentice) and Storm ahead/Cherie Amour who both have the right things going for them to be in the mix of things...
4-8 Daisy Duke did not run close to the winner in her last start but was a decent third on debut and plus now going out with Suraj Narredu makes her the first pick for me in what seems another open affair with Anantanarivo/Chloe the latter especially showing a lot of promise as possible threats..
5-7 Silver Cheiftain e/w quirky choice,a chennai horse beating Bangalore handicappers? but then last run made me think that way and there is Sea Fairy with Suraj and is a prime contender here and so is last start winner Flamboyance who i felt won with something on hand,Torch Bearer rallied on late to finish second last time and whats puzzling is that it is not sighted often on the trial tracks,and my choice ran or rather set the pace in the Maharaja cup and would be interesting to see how he fares with the drop in distance and grade
6-2 Racing Fire is facing the last start winner in Escala and although the latter seems to be at advantage yhanks to the pull in weights,the aid of Blinkers plus a change of jockey on the former makes me incline towards it,not to forget the form behind Aika3
7-3 Perfect Ebony e/w because there is a change in jockey on handicap debut and is seemingly working well on the trial spurts,has threats in the Export Quality another youngster but this time with the change in jockey... Keep an eye on her,of the older lot there is not much scope but then someone may score due to lack of depth....
8-1 Pallas looks fine if one ignores the last run which was run after a break and with Strong Conviction and Intrepid Warrior as threats,upsetter looks like the Wonder Woman...
