Sundays racing has a card of 8 races featuringThe Bangalore City Sprint Championship Gold Cup (Gr.3) and here are my picks for the day with a reason or two...
1-3 Kings Smile because I'm looking at a 4yo to win here so that brings the contenders down to only 4 horses,Youresohandsome also has a switch in jockey like my choice and is a 4yo but Kings Smile ran along with youngsters on the derby weekend,also keep an eye on Ramon who is capable of hitting the front and with these weights with the allowance rider would be a danger.
2-10 Bolts Colt a typical class V affair of BSM,a winner over this trip before and with a positive change in jockey made me opt for this 6yo against some of its younger challengers,First Step with a good jockey for this trainer is an imminent threat...
3-4 Integrated who started his career late came into the scene with two back to back wins in the older class III,there is staying blood on the dam's side and if it enjoys the step up in trip is a major player here,also keep an eye on Spirit N Truth who given his age and already a 2nd place over this trip earlier in his career is another major player in this race.
4-3 Fair Game lets be fair here,the horse has not run for most of the season after making his seasonal debut for whaterver reason,I could not guess too but then he has won 3 races over this trip,has age on his side and is going out with a positive jockey this time out against a decent upper class performer in Amazing Redd who can give a tough fight to whomsoever that wants to win here,a game contender.
5-5 Smilestone who has been given a Mock race should be fit enough to challenge Shivalik Star which is more of a follow horse than anything else came back into form with a pleasing start to finish win in its penultimate start,last start was leading till the bend and had to back pedal,now over 1200m trip with Acclaimed,I think in this season of Musical Chairs its Smilestone's turn to be at the top...
6-6 Harley Queen a quirky choice but then again a messy race with many contenders in Romantic Helen/Saga to name a few,my choice has been subject to a mock race and will be in good contention if intent is positive,must be of some value
7-2 Only Princess against the likes of Indian Brahmos (who won against youngsters over the same trip) with Noornabi is another value pick along the course of the day if one ignores last run in the upper class against quite a superior horse in Arabelle,also keep an eye on Rare and Famous who is a possible threat to others with the inform apprentice on board..
8-5 Good Fruit against the likes of Precious Glitter who won quite well in lower class early in the season and followed it up with a second place or Rakshita who was pitched against a 3yo in Lord Darlington and finished second in the lower class,sole reason to select Good Fruit is because it has been running decently over the same class and has the scope to score here with this in form apprentice..
