Sundays racing at Bangalore features The Bangalore St.Leger which is now open to older age groups along with the 4yo's,the Invitation went the Arc way and now the B'lore St Leger is trying to emulate the Irish St Leger,but then the 2400m Invitation has always fancied the younger horses so far and will the Bangalore St leger be any different? This year's field has one superstar against 4 other horses and it will be interesting to see how this race evolves in the years to come,with that note here are my selections for the day
1-6 Tic Tac Toe is now facing an all youngster field,a daunting task lies ahead and so the change in jockey would help its cause,the younger horses all have something or the other going against them and as such it would be really interesting to see how the 7yo fares against the youngsters.
2-6 Candice who is coming out of a decent run last time out is facing too many interconnected horses and the intent should play a major role in this race,last start winner in Go Green and Feet On Fire who ran a decent enough race last time out are the possible threats in what is seemingly the typical competitive B'lore class IV affair.
3-4 Turf Tactics E/w may like this galloping trip and was not very far away last time out against the likes of Namid,also Saptajit who faced graded company last time out was found wanting then and now with a steep downgrade in class should find himself in good reckoning,Burnished Gold won well last time out and with the second placed horse winning again should not be ruled out too.
4-12 Zafrina looks a very good chance on the course of the day as she faced a very good horse in Et Voila last time out,the Manjri stud bred and owned Unbelievable who has the inner draw may try to take advantage of that,keep an eye.
5-5 Feliciana who has had a run this season is now going out with a change in jockey in this no-whip affair and has to contend with the claimer ridden Bonfire who has been doing well this season with a good second behind Tronada last time out and German Guide who is versatile over the middle distance affairs can also make his bit with a massive switch in jockey,Feliciana however stands a good chance due to the nature of the race provided she makes good work in the initial parts of the race.
6-4 Desert God there are times this season where I had said odds would be low and simply academic but then those horses ran at good backable odds come racetime,however I could be pretty damn sure that this horse cannot be backed and cannot be opposed either,academic choice and lets see how he does and where he goes next,one more race at blore ? or to The President of India Gold Cup at Malakpet or to Pune for The Indian St Leger.
7-4 Miss Adler after a front running essay in class II,is now demoted and has a change in jockey and is from a yard who has some good horses in the course of the day and should be in strong contention here,I've Got Clout who is well placed in the scales thanks to being a maiden still and Life Awaits who gets a massive switch in jockey should be respected as there is speed aplenty in that horse.
8-3 Jersey Wonder seems like Sandesh is having some pretty good mounts this sunday too but can he repeat what he did last sunday is a ?,coming to this horse who has won thrice over this trip should contend with the likes of Wise Guy who is in good form and Madame Bovary and also Akha Teej who should have been my pick but for being rather not a very good 7f runner as per its records.
9-10 Rare and Bold who took its sweet time to clear maiden ranks was always kept at maiden class till it cleared it and was a decent runner in the older class III,thus this run is coming in a class which it could win plus the draw and also the fact that Arshad Alam is riding it all makes me to incline towards it,also keep an eye on Top Smiles who won despite a slow jump last time out and with John doing duty should be in the mix of things yet again and is a threat to whomsoever that wants to win here.
