Mysore Derby Day 20/10/13

Hello friends, 
                       The last day of Mysore regular season also features the Mysore Derby,the derby field this time looks closely matched,a majority of the field has run against each other most of the times. 

Here is my take on the contenders and my personal choice 

Beauty Is Truth and Ace Badraan in my opinion have the least chance to win this race in my opinion,the latter although appeals a great deal on its breeding lacks the experience here 

Perfect Soul had won a race over 1800 mts before his bid in the 2000 gns this season,that victory albeit the field it beat was visually very impressive,on that run has an outside chance here 

Ace Bucephalus filled the frame on both his runs during the Bangalore classics,running 4 lengths behind Alaindair is no mean a formline yet faltered in both of its Mysore runs this season,has the horse lost its summer form is a ?,personally have to wait and see what happens here 

Turf Striker,the horse which almost won the Bangalore Summer Derby ran a shocker of a race during the Mysore 2000 gns,gets a change in rider and is coming after a set back.On known formlines if we ignore its last run is the BEST horse in the field,yet with the setback can it bounce back to its true form is a ?. For those who believe he will Turf Striker stands as a good value bet here 

Racing Ahead's best performance till date was its third in the Hyd derby,it was beaten fair and square by Chatlartan,I don't think a reversal of form can be made within this short span of time. 

Scenic Warrior also comes in the same category,needs a humungous reversal of form to topple the fancied runners 

Czar of Romance Vs Southern Emperor will be quite an interesting battle,looking at the running style of both the horse I prefer the former as it came way off the pace over a mile during its close second to Acclaimed! Two top contenders here and Czar of romance actually appeals more to me 

But there is Charlatan,after showing sublime form early in the Bangalore summer season ran third to the mighty Alaindair,and followed it up with a good second to Jeremiah,whose win again at the Pune Derby franks the form of Charlatan.Turf Striker is a horse am ignoring due to its bad last run,but Charlatan has everything going in its favour and should win here and frank the form of both Alaindair and Jeremiah. 

My Personal choice for the derby and Day's Best is Charlatan.

Day's Best Place:Raphire

Pune Races 08/09/2013 Analysis and Selections

Hello friends,                       A card of 8 races have been framed for Sunday,with  The Southern Command Trophy  as the feature event of the day.  Race no 1:A race for horses in class IV (5yo+) over 1400 mts  Matter of heart,Samay Balwan and Star Builder  are the three last outing winners out of the eleven runners in this set,with the former being the winner in the same class and the other two runners are up on promotion. Star builder's  win was pretty easy last time out in the hands of  Dashrath Singh  now on promotion win looks difficult, Samay Balwan  just managed to hold on in the lower class,the same can be said of this horse too  Thus I guess the winner should probably come from this set of horses  Scaramouche,Zaracha,Guns N roses,Brave fighter   Brave fighter  ran third behind  Cypress point  during its only run this season,gets  Trevor Patel  in the saddle,placed well on scales here may spring a surprise  Zaracha  ran second to  Queen's kiss  over 1200 mts,running

Bangalore selections and analysis 27/07

Race no 1: A race for class V horses over 1200 mts On the outset this race looks extremely tricky thanks to the the form? of the runners in this race.  Mountain Train which runs after a long lay-off after its winter adventure looks like a contender here purely based on its track form,but as always its a lottery to assume if the horse after a lay off can put up a winning gallop just after returning or will it need this run? But it is prepared extensively ignore at will That brings me back to two horses which have relatively good form in Will still and Star of desire ,both have reasonable form and the latter a demotee with a switch in jockey has come down a lot in ratings  My choice:#1 Star of Desire for Win  Race no 2:A race for Class V horses over 1200 mts Upper division of the previous race,the field is comprised of many youngsters,here too form is not seen in plenty  Rubi Rey ,which ran in the upper class finished fourth to My Faviurite voice, now drops down in grade with a chance in
