The Battles of Calcutta

The Calcutta Fillies Trial Stakes and The Calcutta Colts trial Stakes are the two feature races of a wonderfully framed card for the day 

Mariinsky which has had its summering at Bangalore is also a classic placed filly (third to Amelia at fillies championship stakes) is no doubt the leading contender to land the spoils here,she takes on Adabella who incidentally is a winner over the Calcutta Monsoon Sprint for 3 yo by a commanding fashion. There is also Shaktiroop who had won a million during the invitation weekend and returns to the track after a layoff. There is also a Bangalore challenger in the fray Rumour Has It which is coming from handicap ranks to a terms race for 3 yo's 

In my opinion Mariinsky stands tall in this set and it will surprise me if any other horse gets the better of Pesi Shroff's Trainee

The Colts trial stakes on the other hand has eight acceptors of which Captain Courageous strikes as the best in first view,but I feel this is a closely matched race. Andreus blew the field and won convincingly during the Independence Cup and is no pushover.Argiano has run with exalted company at Bangalorr and is very much capable of springing a surprise here and there is the local challenger Astaire which has the services of a top jockey and sporting the silks of Dr.Mallya a decent horse and I feel is the unexposed 

In my opinion they all have to contend with a maiden Arabian Warrior only for its running style in its last start,where he covered ground gamely but to go down to Mickey Mouse at the wire,he caught my eye then and I was waiting for him to run again. The company seems rather tough here but I am sticking with him 

My choice:Arabian Warrior e/w

Hello Friends,                          By the time this post gets completed it would be just an hour or two before racetime,anyways hope it helps those who could read it RACE 1: Multigory: won maiden race in his second start and has won class class 4,class 3 and class 53-79 races subsequently,the last two start winner has hit sublime form and is the one to watch out for Jeanine: A first start winner over 5f to clear maidens has subsequently won class 3 and class 2,pune has been a better hunting ground. Pune Races 08/09/2013 Analysis and Selections

Hello friends,                       A card of 8 races have been framed for Sunday,with  The Southern Command Trophy  as the feature event of the day.  Race no 1:A race for horses in class IV (5yo+) over 1400 mts  Matter of heart,Samay Balwan and Star Builder  are the three last outing winners out of the eleven runners in this set,with the former being the winner in the same class and the other two runners are up on promotion. Star builder's  win was pretty easy last time out in the hands of  Dashrath Singh  now on promotion win looks difficult, Samay Balwan  just managed to hold on in the lower class,the same can be said of this horse too  Thus I guess the winner should probably come from this set of horses  Scaramouche,Zaracha,Guns N roses,Brave fighter   Brave fighter  ran third behind  Cypress point  during its only run this season,gets  Trevor Patel  in the saddle,placed well on scales here may spring a surprise  Zaracha  ran second to  Queen's kiss  over 1200 mts,running

Bangalore selections and analysis 27/07

Race no 1: A race for class V horses over 1200 mts On the outset this race looks extremely tricky thanks to the the form? of the runners in this race.  Mountain Train which runs after a long lay-off after its winter adventure looks like a contender here purely based on its track form,but as always its a lottery to assume if the horse after a lay off can put up a winning gallop just after returning or will it need this run? But it is prepared extensively ignore at will That brings me back to two horses which have relatively good form in Will still and Star of desire ,both have reasonable form and the latter a demotee with a switch in jockey has come down a lot in ratings  My choice:#1 Star of Desire for Win  Race no 2:A race for Class V horses over 1200 mts Upper division of the previous race,the field is comprised of many youngsters,here too form is not seen in plenty  Rubi Rey ,which ran in the upper class finished fourth to My Faviurite voice, now drops down in grade with a chance in
