Evening racing has to wait one more week and thus the first sunday of 2016 has a rather "compact" card with 7 races,The bookmakers association Million will be the feature of the day but then the contest between Derby hopeful Costa Del Sol and Pune derby winner Bullrun will be the the cynosure of the day.Here is analysis followed by personal fancies for the day
Race 1:A class IV race over 1200m (5yo+) (DIV-2)
The Magician ran a good race against youngsters in its last start and Fast Future's penultimate run is a good pointer too thus making them both possible contenders in this race
Queen of Venus has the pull in weights and the presence of ace jockey,a dangerous combo
A look at the trial tracks suggests that Shivalik Breeze is capable of a good show,was a decent performer earlier on in its career and now with a run benefit this season and a claimer to lessen the burden seems like an upsetter here
My Choice:#6 Fast Future Win (#4 Shivalik Breeze Upset)
Race 2:A class V race over a mile
Pracs has been knocking the door for quite sometime now and has a decent chance in this set
Cavalia and Envison are two horses that look like good contenders in this race,Olly Boy and Sanam both may find either one of the two good here in my opinion
Envison has gone over the trip earlier and is well placed here in this race to come out of maiden ranks,my personal fancy
My Choice:#3 Envison Win
Race 3:A class IV race over 1200m (5yo+) (Div-1)
Alectar who had the same jockey astride while winning in what seemed like a easy win to the eye is retained in the same class and as such has all chances for an encore,the only difference is that this time he has to tackle youngsters too
Captain Abdon put on a stiff fight and won too last time against the likes of Kandinsky and on that note should not be neglected despite the class penalty
Schiehaillon who won in a good manner last mumbai season has been given a run here and will be worth keeping an eye

Race 4:A class II race over 2000m
Poonawalla Breeders Multi Million winner Vs Pune Derby Winner,in a class II handicap over the drip with the one who has gone the trip and over it receiving weights from the other.
Will the age old proverb a known devil is better than an unknown angel hold good here? especially with respect to the trip,a good race to keep in mind for future references,may the best horse win
Race 5:A Terms Race over 1200m
Dancing Prances has been a wonderful sprinter for quite sometime now winning 11/20 starts and a whopping 10 over this trip and it will take a really special one to beat this horse
Ageless who has been campaigned over various distances was a tad unlucky last time out,taking a huge leap in competition and is at best an outsider here
Gold Bag has been a phenomenon,he has just climbed the handicap ladder very impressively and ran a good one on his terms debut and on such rich form is a decent chance in the feature of the day
My Choice:#5 Gold Bag Win
Race 6:A class II race over 1400m
Alderly Edge who trounced opponents last time out with a start to finish effort now goes out with a change in jockey and two horses in Melinda and Brahmachari who finished behind it with a good chance here thanks to the reverse handicap working in their favour
Intellegence is coming into this race after a failed attempt in the Bangalore classic after trashing the field at Hyderabad,horse is blessed with good initial speed and with two horses who like to force the pace in the fray this race may well be prove to be a good one
Westphalia although is coming after a lay-off and is taking on horses with run benefit this season is the joker in the pack,keep an eye
I think that the race is very open,my choice is Melinda as I feel that last run the pace scenario upstaged her and now there is a good chance to run an improved race here

Excelonce,has a pedigree that can be termed as a good given that the Dam when brought in to india dropped a foal named Smashing which was a black type performer and as such on that grounds and also on preparations looks a strong contender here
Angelic Aria towers over this field if 'class' is the sole criteria,a winner on debut was found wanting in her next start against the Mysore import Perfectionist who incidentally finished ahead of her once again and now with a jump down in class and a change in jockey to Trevor Patel with an added equipment her chances are very good indeed
Personify and Velvet Amari are the two other horses that are worth a look here,the latter especially has been in lack of luck since his debut and the former had earlier finished second to the too good Zachary over the same trip and on that factor should not be ignored here
I think this race is an open affair and the still maiden Excelonce may look to upstage Angelic Aria and is my personal fancy
