Cambay Tiger Sundowner-Day 1 (18/04/2015) Analysis and Selections

Hello Friends,
The Mumbai season is approaching its climax and as a first-ever time in Indian racing an official race is going to be run under lights,as a matter of face three races each on saturday and sunday. The Saturday's card consists of 9 races and here is my analysis and personal choices of the same

Race 1:A class V race over 1600m

Pretty Lights, who has been jumping classes in its last two runs is now in a class where it has filled the frame. Its last run in class IV can be ignored and now in this class with its age factor will play a very vital role in this race, default contender according to me

There is the presence of three horses in Sindbaad,Nigella and Ibis which makes this race a competitive one and they are the main threat to the younger horse in my opinion

Sindbaad is a horse that has to be taken rather seriously,it has earlier won over the same trip and in the same course and in the same class last year, after running unsuccessfully in the upper class it is now making a demotion, with demotion it also has a change in jockey to Bhawani Singh who has been impressive as an apprentice too, make a note of it

Among Nigella and Ibis, there is little to choose,as the latter had got the better of the former in R.no 276 i feel that the latter is better placed again. The latter also retains the same jockey on-board in C.S.Jodha thus making it a very strong contender in this race

My Choice:#3 Sindbaad Win/Place

Race 2:A race for Maiden 3yo's over 1400m

Although there are horses like Tennessee in the ranks along with well tracked debutants like Atalya and Fearless Nadia there is the presence of one horse named Persian Prince makes it the obvious choice in this race

This horse has had a run benefit when Admiralty won and is considered to be the one of the leading classic contenders from the champion trainers yard, thus on formlines and preparations the prince should have the last laugh

My Choice:#2 Persian Prince Win

Race 3:A class III race over 2000m

El Camino who failed to live upto its top billing last time out is running again with the same jockey and this time over extended distance and as such is the top contender in this race

And among the two possible contenders in Hoshiyaar and Danse Debonaire, the scales in my opinion are decisively tilt towards the former.

Can El Caminino make up for its loss,I personally have my own doubts more so because I felt that the horse is suited over 7f to 8f trips and as such my choice by default is Hoshiyaar

My Choice:#3 Hoshiyaar Win

Race 4:A class II race over 1400m

Simply Sweet made an emphatic return to the winning circle last time out while beating a very good bunch convincingly in the same class, has now climbed the weight scales and is looking for a repeat in the same class

Starisocrat who has had the better of the former on not one but two occasions has a stellar record coming into this race having won 3 out of its four starts, also on a weight basis it seems to be better placed

Providence and Fortune Hunter are the two horses that can loo to upset here and the latter cannot be completely ruled out

of the youngsters who are having a first taste of class II,Himalayan Queen and Free Speech the former looks good based on its last win and hoping that it will get another furlong it will play a very good role here

True that on all logic Staristocrat looks better of Simply Sweet, but then I am going with the latter simply because its last win was quite impressive and a similar show is very much in the offing

My Choice:#1 Simply Sweet Win

Race 5:For Maiden 3yo horses over 1400m

Viennese has finished in the top 3 in atlas one of its previous starts is one of the top contenders in this race

Aelous Maximus has been running some good and some bad races, this jockey who is riding now has earlier been atop in this horse when it finished second over a 5f trip, keep an eye

Although there are horses in the likes of Joss and Saker being ridden by the jockeys of good acclaim for the track in the fray,it is the debutant Highland King who has been putting in some good work in the tracks that has caught my eye,my personal fancy

My Choice:#2 Highland King Win/Place

Race 6:A class IV race over 1400m (5yo+)

This race wears a very open look,Maalik,Summer Eclipse,Shaughnessy,Pretty Hot,Advance to Contact,Magic Vison and Con Man being the contenders in this race

on a closer look however I have shortlisted three horses in Summer Eclipse,Shaughnessy and Magic Vison to be the ones to look out for in this race

Shaughnessy is showing out in the track trials and also has a positive change in saddle support, its a winner over the 7f trip twice in the recent past and as such has a good chance to win in this race

My Choice:#3 Shaughnessy Win

Race 7:A class V race over 1000m

Spear of Trium who had a decent run in the upper class in its last run finds itself placed well among in this set and as such will be the one with top billing in the first ever race under floodlights more so because it will run with the pace

The challenge in my opinion should come from the likes of Blackbean,Peizieres and Sunshine Heart. With two horses in Cut Diamond and Brazil who can be termed as outsiders in this race

Its an open affair and my fancy here is Peizieres who has a positive change in the saddle and has been putting in some decent runs in its last few runs,it can do well on that count and also the age factor

My Choice:#5 Peizieres Win

Race 8:A class III race over 1000m

Dreamz Unlimited who has been in the thick of things after winning two races will be looking to have a decisive say in this race,is one of the main contenders here

This race has all makings of a humdinger as the contenders atleast on paper,Soothsayer will be looking to make its presence felt yet again but will the weights which are now in favour of As Good as Gold and El Wonder work on their favour is a thing that has to been. In my view of the three AGAG has the better credentials

The presence of 5f specialists in Ainra,Umarkot also makes for interesting reading, the latter especially with a change in rider and bottom weights should be a force to reckon with in this race

However inspite of the presence of horses like Incentio and Ashrafie it is Extreme Love who gets a massive switch in the saddle and being the one coming into this race with the benefit of a run in a handicap million makes this horse a strong contender in this race,my personal fancy

My Choice:#7 Extreme Love Win

Race 9:A class V race over 1000m

Zarar and Zafirah both of them who have won earlier in the season and as the set is seemingly moderate should hope to build on their form and score one more here

The challenge should mainly come from the likes of Fajr and Without Fear, the former had won in this class and has been putting in some suggestive runs and the latter's last run can be ignored and it has done decently with Darren Williams aboard twice, now it has a good chance to clear its maiden ranks in this set and as such is my personal fancy

My Choice:#3 Without Fear Win

Days Best:Persian Prince

Good Bets:Simply Sweet,Extremely Love

Have a good day,gamble responsibly
