The Invitation Weekend-Day 2

Saturday's racing was disastrous for me personally,yet one must acknowledge the winners NEFYN and ASTAPI. Well done to the connections 

Let bygones be bygones lets see what can I do tomorrow,again a card of 8 events including three graded races,here is my analysis and personal preferences for the same 

RACE NO 1:A race for horses rated upto 1100 m over 1100 mts 

Go for Gold will be the hotcake for the first race tomorrow,lets see Field Commander a winner in the last start was also ridden by Suraj on board. 

Go for Gold is a filly carrying top weight,gets a positive jockey and also positive switch in shoes. 

Lips locking and Ek Ek Ek the latter won by 3 lengths getting chunks of weight from the former,thus latter may be at a disadvantage and Lips Locking is better placed here 

The other two lower class winners can make a race of it as well but for their lack in class 

The race in my opinion is between Lips Locking and Ek Ek Ek and both are closely matched here again yet I am relying on the latter as horses tend to improve on second career start 

My Choice:#5 Ek Ek Ek for win/place 

RACE NO 2:A RACE FOR HORSES RATED UPTO 50 over 1400 mts 

The horses that has a good chand in my opinion are Racing Queen,Symbol of beauty,Jaz Elle and Baba's Gift 

RACING QUEEN has been running some consistent races,the trainer is persisting with the same jockey again,placed well here 

Jaz Elle has been running some game races and is now vying for a hat-trick by dropping down in distance and also getting a positive switch in jockey 

But both these horses will find either Symbol of Beauty or Baba's Gift a hard nut to crack,despite bein ridden by the most talented jockey in India in the bottom handicap,I prefer Symbol of Beauty over it as it is a same season same class winner and may very well repeat here,if odds for place are reasonable worth an e/w bet 

My Choice:#5 Symbol of Beauty for win 

RACE NO 3:A race for 3 yo maidens over 1400 mts 

FAIRWOOD PARK is bred extremely well and its last two runs are decent enough,gets a change in saddle support and is the horse to be beaten here. 

There are two debutants in the field,both from the local stables who may score a winning debut Right Dimension from the stables of S.Abbas and Vijay's Casper from the stables of LVR Deshmukh 

Now the horse that can get the better of Fairwood Park is Feliciana which has run a good second finishing with a flourish after missing the kick at the start in its last run,and is also a strong contender in this race 

The local got-abroad debutant Vijay's Casper is working well on the tracks and can have a bold show on debut and is my personal choice for this race 

My choice:#8 Vijay's Casper for win 

RACE NO 4:A race for horses rated upto 75 over 1800 mts 

CELTIC KING is now getting a top jockey after running behind Jeremiah and Circle of Bliss at the Pune Derby,the distance will suit this horse and is the prime contender in this race 

The Bangalore contingent has three horses with realistic chances in the fray Potomac likes the distances but is facing younger brigade Strike The Stars and Mannat,the latter especially after its win in class III over a mile at Bangalore at bottom weights and is now well placed on the scales to make a race of it here 

The local contingent is large in numbers however Machine Gun and the horse which is vying for a tough five in a row Tejaswini appeal the most,the former is also enroute for a hat-trick and with YSS in the saddle has a fair chance 

My personal choice for this race despite a bad draw is Mannat,as her run in the Oaks as a favourite is best ignored and at these weights and especially at this distance has a good chance to win and should place in this field 

My Choice:#9 Mannat for win 

RACE NO 5:The Super Mile Gr.1 

The first two of the four Gr.1's threw two outsiders as winners,I must confess that I was taken aback with the run of Mariinsky,the 1000 guineas winner is now running a day after her race in the sprinters,a lot depends on how the horse comes out of this race which no racebook or website will have details about,thus an enogmatic contender after being a failed fav today in this field 

Machiavellianism another Gr.1 winner in this field has the terms slightly tilted in its favour now after its last two defeats where the terms of those races were certainly against it,one of the best local hopes as last year this horse showed a sparkling turn of foot at the Mahalakshmi to win Indian 2000 gns,has the class and an experienced jockey aboard if not P.S.Chouhan 

Supreme Star and Immense are the two Dark un's in this field,the former which has finished behind Machiavellianism in the Indian 2000 gns in its classic year has won some races over a mile yet this time the terms as per my opinion is loaded against it 

Immense has the saddle artist Sandesh onboard and has been running listless runs and is a horse of sheer gut feeling and nothing else 

Amelia won the fillies trial stakes at Bangalore and a course (not the hyd regular track) winner at Hyderabad. Was unlucky to lose its rider during the 1000 gns and has won two races over the sprints,no tracks at hyd yet this horse has a bright chance to lift this cup,primarily because the terms are favourable and this horse is in rousing form and unlike Mariinsky wasn't spent a day before. Maybe that will make the final difference or I have got this completely wrong. 

The proverbial joker is Czar of Romance keep an eye 

My Choice:#10 Amelia for win 

RACE NO 6:The Suresh Mahindra Multi-Million (Gr.2) 

Last year in this very event due to a rare display of misjudgement by its jockey Plenipotent lost a certain race to Klipspringer,on home soil now Plenipotent is the horse to tackle by others in this set 

The winner of last years race,which was also my only invitational experience saw the sprinters cup runner winning the cup and by that logic there are 3-4 horses from yesterday's races running today too. 

Speed Six obviously is the top choice and so will be Kohinoor Wish or Rosie Sunshine etc 

Stormtracker has been invincible over the 7f trip so far,this is by far his biggest test of all as in my calculation he is a bit negatively placed as per the terms for the race,come what may for the sheer consistency over this distance this horse is my personal choice for this race 

The two youngsters in Galiat and Gentle Knowledge has to find a lot to beat the above mentioned horses in my opinion 

My Choice:#2 Stormtracker for win 

RACE NO 7:The Indian Turf Invitation Cup Gr.1 over 2400 mts 

The feature event of the weekend,as many as 16 hopefuls to face the starter in this prestigious race. 

The horses of yesteryear classic crop are only four in number,the local challenger and the defending champion Tintinnabulation along with the Indian St.Leger winner An Acquired Taste,the Indian Champions Cup winner Ocean and Beyond and finally The Eclipse Stakes winner Torolocco. 

Going by the recent form runs and the recent tracks the horse that appeals the most is Ocean and Beyond. 

Alaindair vs Murioi II is how this race is being built up by many pundits and many feel that Murioi is itching for a sweet revenge especially with his regular partner back in the saddle,who has an edge and what factors will decide the outcome is yet to be seen. 

Circle of Bliss which is now again ridden by Hughes and Starry Eyes with the wonder-jockey of Indian racing Sandesh will also be looking to reverse the verdict on Alaindair 

Snowdrift which skipped the derby is the Darkhorse in this field,Has a fair chance and shouldn't be ignored along with the local course winner Jeremiah

It would surprise me if any of the younger brigade except for Murioi or Circle of Bliss turn the tables on Alaindair,to go a step further I would say Alaindair stands tall head and shoulders above like a big daddy in this field. 

Having said all that my money would ride for the fun of it on Ocean and Beyond,7 years old yes but is in some good form oflate and should place here in this set paying decent dividends or fail trying 

My Choice:#2 Ocean and Beyond (win/place) 

RACE NO 8:A race for horses rated upto 75 over 1200 mts 

TRIUMPHANT,LOVE OF MY LIFE AND RUMOUR HAS IT are all coming out of the same race at last Bangalore season,Triumphant is now placed exceedingly well on the scales 

Love of my life also has a chance as it is a winner and is seen on the tracks unlike Triumphant 

The local horse Shamrock Lady and Little Love from cal who ran a second last time out on Saturday can stretch them 

RUMOUR HAS IT has a recent run advantage and that is the only reason why I feel it has a good chance to turn the tables around on its conqueror 

MY CHOICE:#6 Rumour Has it for win 

Good Bets:Mannat,Amelia,Stormtracker

Bangalore selections and analysis 27/07

Race no 1: A race for class V horses over 1200 mts On the outset this race looks extremely tricky thanks to the the form? of the runners in this race.  Mountain Train which runs after a long lay-off after its winter adventure looks like a contender here purely based on its track form,but as always its a lottery to assume if the horse after a lay off can put up a winning gallop just after returning or will it need this run? Mumbai Thursday races 12/12/13 a Analysis and Selections

Hello Friends,                       The mid-week racing card at Mumbai consists a compact card of 7 races,here is my analysis and selections for the day  Race no 1:Class V race over 1200 mts  Ancient Odyssey  which won its last start in the same class over the same distance now gets a positive switch in rider,as most of the field is out of relative form,this horse has a fair chance to repeat here Polar Zone  which has earlier shown some spark is now getting a guidance from a top jockey,has run decently in its previous runs too,no tracks are seen and that is my only worry  But one horse which caught the eye during its last run is  SHOWERS OF HEAVEN, it had a forward run in a large field with Dharmendar on top and was calling the shots until they crossed the 200 mts marker over a 7f trip,now with a benifit of that run and a switch to jockey,shapes as a decent chance bet for the day  MY CHOICE:#...
