Bangalore selections and analysis 27/07

Race no 1:A race for class V horses over 1200 mts

On the outset this race looks extremely tricky thanks to the the form? of the runners in this race.

Mountain Train which runs after a long lay-off after its winter adventure looks like a contender here purely based on its track form, but as always its a lottery to assume if the horse after a lay off can put up a winning gallop just after returning or will it need this run? But it is prepared extensively ignore at will

That brings me back to two horses which have relatively good form in Will still and Star of desire, both have reasonable form and the latter a demotee with a switch in jockey has come down a lot in ratings

My choice:#1 Star of Desire for Win

Race no 2:A race for Class V horses over 1200 mts

Upper division of the previous race, the field is comprised of many youngsters, here too form is not seen in plenty

Rubi Rey,which ran in the upper class finished fourth to My Faviurite voice, now drops down in grade with a chance in jockey,in its last run the jockey was questioned by the stewards for a bad ride

Himavri which finished a length behind the winner in its last but one run over this very class had a run at the upper class where it finished 10 lts behind the winner, now goes out with a jockey switch to Imran Khan

Maracana which has come for its first run in an handicap race appeals good because of the jockey on board, good tracks and also a very successful jockey-trainer combination

But my choice here is Himavri as the trainer has opted for a veteran jockey with some forward races recently this 3 yo horse should win it here easily

My choice:#8 Himavri for win

Race 3:For Maiden 3 yo over 1200 mts

Azetic Star after his debut on the very first race of the season where he finished second ran a dismal race on its next start too,now trackworks looks good and hope this horse bred in half to An Acquired Taste (same dam) lives up to its expectations

The horse to beat this is a filly Tijuca Forset, who hasn't had a start in this season so far has a good winter form to go by,finished behind Jersey Girl on debut over 1100 mts and ran a good 2.5 lts behind winner with Mudassar Nazar aboard in its next start over 1400 mts,ran a forward race

Madame Bovary and Guts for Glory look like the other two horses in with a chance due to their decent outings

But the Dhariwal trainee in Tijuca Forest is my fancy here and I hope she runs a grand race

My Choice:#11 Tijuca Forest For Win

Race no 4:A class II race (4yo +) over 1400 mts

Valahak which has three starts this season is coming down in grade after running with very good company, jockey change to Anjar Alam who claims an allowance of 3 kgs

Sky Train:Had a good winter season, where it ran close to Archibaldo who has shown brilliant form, after running  seventh to Equine lover in its last start, goes out with the same jockey

Sudden Magik which ran second to Equine lover is up by 3 points now, going by that run one cannot neglect it,runs with the same jockey Mudazar Nazar again

Radical Attraction after winning its last race during Winter season, ran a very bad race during its first start Bangalore Sunmer, then ran 4 lts behind Esteban over a shorter trip and now has a change in jockey to Trevor Patel

Spiritual Star, which is on promotion and also eyeing for a hat-trick will be ridden by Suraj Narredu, this horse has good form to support it and is the default contender here

Foswell has a good record this season if u discount its last run,I think it was more to do with the underfoot conditions when it ran behind Equine Lover, this horse on its first start ran behind the trio of promising youngsters then in Czar of romance Decathlon and Miracle Memories, then it won the very next race beating Lads Gladiator by a length,Lads Gladiator after that went on to win a class II race over this same distance and is seen running here with a claimer.

Foswell is tracking well and has a switch in jockey to S.John

Cool Approach, after running dead last in the Maharaja's Cup is returning to class II race now with a claimer, can it upset here? Well anything can happen at racing but I feel the horse will need this run

Thus many contenders here,

Spiritual Star which is eyeing for hat-trick of wins is the default contender here

Foswell and Sudden Magik have the recent form to topple the favourite

But looking at Radical Attraction, which has won over a similar trip almost with a similar rating (now=79 then=77) with the same jockey who is riding today Trevor Patel along with a change in shoes and a reasonable fourth behind Esteban (who won again in class I) looks like a reasonably good bet, with odds above 4/1 holds good value.

My Choice:#4 Radical Attraction For Win

Race no 5:A race for horses in class IV over 1200 mts

Ambitious Reward is a Multidimensional progeny add to it it's victory in maiden class as an odds on favourite in over the same trip makes it the top contender here, change in jockey to B.Sreekant

Game dancer which has finished fourth in higher class is now dropping down in class, change in jockey to Shahnawaz who is a claimer, tracks are good, should place

You're Rocking has got an upsetting chance here as it runs over its pet trip with the jockey who won on it,flukers fancy

Magic Wave ran behind the runaway winner Golden Princess has been pitched in again in a span of five days, jockey change to claimer P.Kiran Rai

Oriental Star another 3 yo horse which has shown good improvement when it ran fourth behind Grand Applause over 1100 mts now runs with a change in jockey to Vinod Shinde in open class, has the pull in weights but can it topple the top weight on-money fav? I hope so

My choice:#12 Orienral Star for an e/w bet

Race no 6:A race for horses in Class III (4yo+) over 1400 mts

Shivalik Fire which ran a close second to Sussex downs and later tried to win the race at the stewards room is pitched in here after being penalised 6 points after that run, same jockey in Suraj Narredu will partner this horse, drops down in distance

Mr Ambassador which ran a surprise second to Lads Gladiator runs here again with a jockey change to Rajesh Babu

I say which has finished second to Spiritual Star in its only run this season,is penalised 5 pts for that effort and will be partnered by Imran Chisty again

Bourbon Rock from the Goldie-Brown stables has three runs this season and placed twice, its third behind Spiritual star during its last run with I.Chisty on board was a good effort, stable jockey in B.Sreekant is entrusted with this horse

Strive and serve has dropped down alarmingly in ratings and is placed better on scales here

Shivalik fire I say and Bourbon rock appear to be the prime contenders here,Shivalik fire Eventhough has been penalised and so too I say are the two prime contenders, and my vote is to Shivalik Fire who in my opinion will look to get back to winning ways

My choice:#1 Shivalik Fire for Win

Race no 7:Maiden race for 3 yo over 1100 mts

Almost all the horses which have run before have shown no promise at all so I am looking at this debutant Shinnecock HillS,who is bred similiar to Sovetskaya which is a good sprinter (now in class I)

The tracks are good and also has a good jockey in S.John who combines with the trainer Arjun Manglorkar in most of his successes looks like a winner on debut

Joey after a stint at class IV and Zikki may run close to the winner

my choice:#5 Shinnecock Hills for win

Days Best:Shinnecock Hills

Double:Star of Desire-Radical Attraction

Upset:Oriental Star

Have a nice day,gamble responsibly

Quite surprised to see that Himavari does not feature in your DB or good double even after your comment this 3 yo horse should win it here easily. May I pease know the reason.

    1. Dear Alex,
Himavri stands a very good chance at that field and it is not that I am undermining its chances,it is just that I am more confident about Shinnecock Hills although a fav will score on debut.
