A seven horse field will face the starter for this gruelling classic trip over 2800 m 

An acquired taste is the horse in form here thanks to its two out of two victories over 1400 m and 1800 m respectively,guess the trainer had this event in his mind all along,the question is can it stay the trip and win its first classic,is the same case with Master Shifu (ex-hemisphere) 

Master Shifu according to its trainer is suspect in its ability to stay a trip of 2200 m, a trip of 2800 m may well be beyond its reach but its racing a trainer of his repute has taken a chance here and writing it off is not the first thing one should do here with this horse 

Borsalino too has the same problem according to me in staying the trip,although its illustrious dam running flame was blessed with stamina but this horse going by its past records haven't done well over 2400 trips although a winner of two derbies over 2000 mts,what may be going well for this horse here is the give in the ground 

Song Dynasty is another horse which is vying for its first classic here,the only filly in this field ran a good second in the Indian oaks thereafter faltered in the Derby against the boys,runs after a long off 

So is the case with Indian derby winner Superstorm,who won the derby in great style failed to reproduce that form or a shadow of it in its very next start at Calcutta 

Tintinnabulation who showed sparkling turn of foot at Calcutta during its invitation triumph was found wanting on its very next start at Bangalore here, missed the kick at the start and was nowhere in the entire race 

Windstream on the other hand which ran second in the Indian derby  and bagged a couple of classics before that had a quiet run in the Maharaja's cup which also means the trainer had this race as the target and had a good lung opener last time around 

What makes this race so fascinating is that the horses here all seven of them have met each other Atleast twice over the past and have thrown out different results each time

Thus each horse is a proven one but ultimately the staying capacity of a horse will prove to be the deciding factor here

The Dam side of this horse has names like common land and grey gaston,so my guesswork is that this horse may find this trip suitable and odds are above 4/1 or above worth takin a chance with Suraj Narredu on the saddle

The inform An Acquired Taste which is looking for its first classic will run a great race too in my opinion and the race is between these two horses

Bangalore selections and analysis 27/07

Race no 1: A race for class V horses over 1200 mts On the outset this race looks extremely tricky thanks to the the form? of the runners in this race.  Mountain Train which runs after a long lay-off after its winter adventure looks like a contender here purely based on its track form,but as always its a lottery to assume if the horse after a lay off can put up a winning gallop just after returning or will it need this run? Mumbai Thursday races 12/12/13 a Analysis and Selections

Hello Friends,                       The mid-week racing card at Mumbai consists a compact card of 7 races,here is my analysis and selections for the day  Race no 1:Class V race over 1200 mts  Ancient Odyssey  which won its last start in the same class over the same distance now gets a positive switch in rider,as most of the field is out of relative form,this horse has a fair chance to repeat here Polar Zone  which has earlier shown some spark is now getting a guidance from a top jockey,has run decently in its previous runs too,no tracks are seen and that is my only worry  But one horse which caught the eye during its last run is  SHOWERS OF HEAVEN, it had a forward run in a large field with Dharmendar on top and was calling the shots until they crossed the 200 mts marker over a 7f trip,now with a benifit of that run and a switch to jockey,shapes as a decent chance bet for the day  MY CHOICE:#6 Showers of heaven for win/place  RACE NO 2:Class II race over a mile Two horse contest over
