Pune Friday races selections and comments 

Race no 1:Class IV race (5yo+) over 1400 

Cypress point ran second to Jewel of the hills in its last run Mumbai season over a mile,now drops down in distance with a change in jockey

Tell me more,ran a good 3.5 lts behind winner in the same class in its last but one run,jockey chance to Shrikant Kamble,has a good chance to place in my opinion, can upset

Brave Fighter,too has the same story wherein its last but one run incidentally over 1400 mts was good,finished close to 3 lts behind the eventual winner 

Princess Khatoum finished 5 lengths behind the winner in same class over a shorter trip in Pune,now runs with the same jockey ,this trip may suit as its last win is over this trip

Thus the opening race of the day seems a slightly tricky affair,my choice here is Princess Khatoum ahead of  Cypress point and brave fighter, simply because it has a benifit of a run this current season and will be all ready to strike! 

My Choice:#6 Princess Khatoum for Win

Race 2:Over 1000 mts for horses in class V 

Emerald Fortune,ran second in its last 2 runs in this present class,in between it ran a million race in class IV and nowhere in that race. Regular jockey in S.Mosin partners 

Zafirah as a two over old finished 3rd on debut to Zoraavar now runs in open class for the first time,nikhil bhujbal will further reduce the burden by 10 points 

Adams spirit,another 3 yo with no form whatsoever runs for the first time in open class,jockey change to Vaibhav

Indescrete ran 7 lts behind (7th) Starsonboard (whick shocked last time out) in the upper class over the same distance,jockey I.Pasha will be riding this horse 

Allegiance,has always tried to win in this distance,last run at Mumbai finished third now goes out with a jockey change to Dashrath Singh 

Stella which played up at the gates last week is entered again,lSandesh rides it again,ran fourth in lts last effort at Mumbai over 1400 mts

Thus with two 3 yo horses in open class for the first time taking on the older horses,one cannot completely neglect the youngsters,but to justify one should have a reason so both of them are flukers fancy in my opinion. Zafirah which has beaten suntanbeauty at the track may upset 

Of the possible contenders on paper Allegiance appeals to me the most,the reasons are that the distance will suit this horse,goes out with a positive switch in jockey,tracking good and moreover good trainer-jockey combo 

My choice:#5 Allegiance for win

Race no 3:Class II race (5yo +) over 1400 m

Saints and winners which ran in the very last race of Mumbai season where it finished a shade under 3 lengths to the eventual winner now goes out with a step up in trip and a change in jockey,ran 5 lengths behind hachiko over 1400 in one of its run last season 

Sugar loaf which struck good form which is evident from itself two runs at Mumbai,also goes out with a step up in distance this time around with jockey N.S.Parmar

Swift memories,which has placed on the board in almost all its runs during the Mumbai season,is a last start winner,drops down a lot in distance also out with a jockey switch to Dashrath Singh

Hidden goodness which ran close to Swift Memories also drops down in distance and will be ridden by jockey T.S.Jodha 

Augustus which is a winner at same class same distance a couple of runs earlier interestingly goes out with the same jockey Neeraj Rawal who won on this horse 

Running sun,which has finished a good 1/2 length behind the winner at lower class is trying to fight out the issue here with jockey c.s.Jodha chances are more as the jockey is proving himself by riding good races oflate 

Although Augustus appeals a lot here,my personal fancy here is Swift Memories as its last win was over 2000 mts where it made all the hard work,set the pace and sustained till the end,now over a shorter trip with a switch in jockey to Dashrath Singh should do the trick here,not to forget a very consistent horse too 

My choice:#3 Swift memories for a win bet 

Race no 4 

Although there are horses with reasonable form like like Veena's Star and Phelps who have run behind good youngsters,the company with which Indian touched matched strides are completely different and a cut above,should score easily here.fleetwood Mac also looks to be horse to finish on a top 3. 

My choice:#7 Indian Touch For win 

Race no 5:A terms race for 3 yo only over 1200 

Hail the king,after winning on debut was pitched in the PBMM,finished among the ruck,can I overlook this horse now? It runs after a 5 months so I think I can 

Remember me is a horse which has been quite consistent during Mumbai season,also it is a last start winner,with Asbar astride one can expect this horse to run a bold race

But this race in my opinion is purely between Zoraavar and Yellowzone,both of them have met before,and it looks like a close call,but the manner in which Yellowzone lost last time out and the switch in jockey makes it a top contender for win

My choice:Yellowzone for win

Race no 6:race for horses in class III over 1000 mts

My reading of the race is very simple,can Garraro be beaten ? The trainer has opted to run his winning horse the very next week,I think it can defy the penalty and win again

My choice:#2 Garraro for win 

Race no 7:A class IV race over 1200 mts

Silver streak which won in its last Mumbai start in a good man RR takes on rewarding desire here, 

The tracks of Rewarding desire are too good to be ignored.thus I fancy this horse here although silver streak is no pushover by any means 
My choice:#2 Rewarding Desire for Win

    in 5th race the alekona trophy I like oriental star... has d ability to upset... wat do u think... prithiviraj also has some due...

    Dear Ajith,am studying the card right now,and i share ur opinion as it is the only other 3 yo in the fray which has reasonable form and gets 10 kgs from the odds on fav Ambitious Reward

Bangalore selections and analysis 27/07

Race no 1: A race for class V horses over 1200 mts On the outset this race looks extremely tricky thanks to the the form? of the runners in this race.  Mountain Train which runs after a long lay-off after its winter adventure looks like a contender here purely based on its track form,but as always its a lottery to assume if the horse after a lay off can put up a winning gallop just after returning or will it need this run? But it is prepared extensively ignore at will That brings me back to two horses which have relatively good form in Will still and Star of desire ,both have reasonable form and the latter a demotee with a switch in jockey has come down a lot in ratings  My choice:#1 Star of Desire for Win  Race no 2:A race for Class V horses over 1200 mts Upper division of the previous race,the field is comprised of many youngsters,here too form is not seen in plenty  Rubi Rey ,which ran in the upper class finished fourth to My Faviurite voice, now drops down in gra...

Mumbai Thursday races 12/12/13 a Analysis and Selections

Hello Friends,                       The mid-week racing card at Mumbai consists a compact card of 7 races,here is my analysis and selections for the day  Race no 1:Class V race over 1200 mts  Ancient Odyssey  which won its last start in the same class over the same distance now gets a positive switch in rider,as most of the field is out of relative form,this horse has a fair chance to repeat here Polar Zone  which has earlier shown some spark is now getting a guidance from a top jockey,has run decently in its previous runs too,no tracks are seen and that is my only worry  But one horse which caught the eye during its last run is  SHOWERS OF HEAVEN, it had a forward run in a large field with Dharmendar on top and was calling the shots until they crossed the 200 mts marker over a 7f trip,now with a benifit of that run and a switch to jockey,shapes as a decent chance bet for the day  MY CHOICE:#...
