Mumbai Sunday 28/12/14 Analysis and Selections

Hello Friends,                        The Sunday's card at Mumbai has eight races with The Jewel Royals Maharaja Jiwajirao Scindia Trophy (Gr.II) as the feature of the day. Here is my analysis and personal fancies followed by investment plans for the day.  RACE 1:A class V race over 2400 mts  Argyle Pink with Trevor Patel in the saddle warrants a lot of attention. This horse is a course and distance winner last season and now is near its last winning rating and as such is the top contender here  I'm however of the opinion that Bonobo who has also dropped down a lot in scales had a decent last outing and now over this trip with a run advantage this season this horse holds a slight edge than the former. As the field is small one can only hope as the pace of the race will play a major part in the outcome  My Choice:#2 Bonobo Win  RACE 2:For 2 yo maidens only over 1200 mts  All the six horses that are going to face the starter tomorrow are debutants.  Without going too much into th

Bangalore Saturday 27/12/14

Hello Friends,                      It was a forgettable afternoon at the races on Boxing Day,looking forward to a good day on Saturday at Bangalore. The card is filled with 9 races and here is my analysis and Selections followed by investment plans for the day  RACE 1:A class IV race over 1400 mts (Div.II)  Hidden Deal who comes into this race with a game second in its last start is in all aspects the top contender according to me in this race  Two horses in Summer Sensation (who gets a positive switch in jockey) and Little Brown Jug (whose run behind Hendrix is notable and also has change in jockey) are the likely challengers  Of the debutants, Trojan  appeals but then the choice of rider and shoes are a cause of concern  Musical Treasure had a rough passage past time out and can improve on that effort here......  My personal fancy here is Hidden Deal who comes into this race on back of a decent run and its trial spurt after its last run is a good pointer too....  My Choice:#2 Hidden

Boxing Day Races-Analysis and Selections

Hello Friends,                      The city of joy as it is the norm will play host to a card of 9 races on Boxing Day,needless to say the excitement of a new year around the corner is highly palpable..... Coming back to us railbirds I hope the afternoon ahead is both exciting and prosperous. Here is my bit of analysis and selections followed by my investment plans......  Race 1:A class V race over 1100 mts  NOTE:No Whips are allowed in this race  Kremlin comes into this race with a switch in jockey and a positive switch in shoes, this horse is bred well for speed and is having its second run on demotion  Though Sunshine Dancer appeals well for some reason I guess that both Chuundu and I Me Myself are the two horses that will have a big say in this race  Although the scales are now in favour of the latter,I believe that Chhundu who has the right form and a very decent last run where it was interfered would fare well here and may possibly score,my personal fancy  My Choice:#2 Chhundu Wi

The Indian 1000 Guineas (Gr.1)

Hello Friends,                      The First of the five Indian classics will go to the post at 4:30 pm on Thursday 18/12/2014. Here is my take on the first classic of the season  To be quite honest with you I feel that 17 runners event taking place tomorrow has created a good amount of excitement in me.  As I have maintained all through, the Juvinile form in the recent times that is in the past five years from The Fillies Championship Stakes or The Fillies Trial Stakes as it was previously known had given us four winners.  Here is the list of the last five winners of the 1000 guineas and their respective positions in the Bangalore Fillies Championship stakes  Jacqueline-Winner  Siachen-Winner  Alma Mater-Non runner  Vijays Pride-Winner  Mariinsky-Third  Going by this trend, the 1,2,3 of this years edition in Maisha,Alexandra Mills and Godspeed all come into this race as top contenders.  I have a very strong belief that barring a rank outsider or an improving horse like Bon Vivant,Westa

Hello Friends,                       The Second classic of the season features in a day of 9 races, here is my analysis and my personal choices RACE 1:A CLASS V RACE OVER 1200 mts (Div.II)  The lone three year old youngster in the field  Shining Bay  is the one that strikes right away, has two runs this season in its last run over 7f trip, this horse was prominent till the bend and had finished a decent fourth,as such is the one that is the top contender in this race  There are many horses who can hope to return a winner here in  Sayyonne ,Reformer,Angel Queen  and  Dream Neo  Angel Queen  has what is called as a good form coming into this race,it has been a while sicne its last run and there is a change of shoes which sends confusing signals  Then there is  Sayyonne  who is a track and distance winner with the same jockey, with the benifit of a run and the winning jockey aboard one can only be optimistic for this horse to do well here  Then there is  Refomer  who has a very good run benif

Hyderabad 08/12/14

Hello Friends,                        The Second classic of the season,The Hyderabad 2000 guineas features a card of 9 races. Here is my analysis and personal choices followed by my investment plan for the day RACE NO 1:A race for horses 3yo+ over 2200 mts  Four horses over a longer trip, with three horses all in with a chance being ridden by experienced jockeys. Its actually a very tough call to make  On class ' snow bird'  looks set apart, but many horses have failed to carry weights, add to it the distance to travel. The positive ofcourse is the jockey onboard  Super Duper  is now decisively better placed than the former, can travel the trip and has the ace jockey of the course, the top contender in this race  Then there is  Greek Star  who is younger, carries a decent weight with respect to the other two and has the winning jockey again to partner it. The only question is can be match the class of the other two?  Thus I guess the logical choice would be  Super Duper, if I go by h

B'lore Saturday 06/12/14

Hello Friends,                      Its been quite a Friday night and now when I have started to pen down this blog the time is a quartet to 3 in the morning. Thus I cannot go for a analysis of the 9 race card as a whole,I have selected some races and have given my analysis.  RACE 1:A race for 2 yo maidens over 1100 mts  If one goes by breeding alone, Eternal Flame who is out of a classic winning mare comes right into the equation, the preperation is satisfactory too, only the jockey doing duty has to be factored  Summer Mane a got abroad daughter of Dylan Thomas and New Alliance who has arguably the best jockey on duty can also be termed as possible 'contenders' for this race  Ophelia who has been prepared extremely well also has a decent jockey aboard. In a race of 1100 mts being forward is more important than anything else,I have assumed that this horse has that racing 'fitness' more than anybody else and as such is my personal fancy  My Choice:#Ophelia Win  RACE 3:A c

Hello friends,                      A eight race card has been framed at the BTC and here is my analysis and personal fancies for the day....  RACE 1:A class IV race over 1200 mts  Interactive who has been consistent in his last 2-3 runs also gets a positive switch in jockey with respect to its last run,now over 1200 mts it stands a decent chance in this set  However it has to contend with Fruit Prince who has a negative switch in jockey support but don't undermine it as it a winner over the same trip in the same track with a run advantage this season, Speedstress who is on her third lifetime start and is very much on the radar thanks to the switch in jockey and the weights she is assigned to carry and the dark outsider in Croziet whose latest track movements are rather suggestive coupled with an interesting choice of jockey  Also there is Secret Touch who has been running some decent races and has a good run benifit too,yet I feel that it is better to watch how it perform here  Ho
